Chapter 3 - flowers for your grave

Miranda's eyes opened slowly her vision blurry, her mind disoriented, her body was extremely weak. She was having a mental block, her mind desperately trying to conjure up the previous activities.

She suddenly gasped as the memories of what happened kept rushing to her, She was kidnapped and sold to that black haired vampire. Had he taken her blood already? Her eyes focused on the expensive looking high ceiling with a beautiful golden chandelier hanging on the ceiling.

Where was she? This room didn't look like a place a blood slave would stay, it looked too beautiful and expensive.

Or was this the afterlife? Did she finally die of hunger or did the vampires suck her blood till she died?

She tried sitting up.

"Ahhh" she moaned clutching her stomach with trembling hands, her voice hoarse, her throat as dry as the desert.

She finally sat up after struggling for a while, her body trembling in weakness, her face scrunched in pain as she had not eaten or drank anything for a few days now. She could feel the pain and discomfort in her very empty stomach.

Her eyes scanned the room in curiosity and awe. She had never seen such a beautiful and luxurious room in her entire life. The smell of white lilies wafted across the room, she spotted a bunch on the table close to the huge window. Who were the flowers for? Did the vampire have a lover? She wondered

Her gaze fell on the big wide bed she was sleeping on. The bed could contain more then 4 adult men comfortably. Why would anyone sleep on such a big bed? Miranda usually shared a small bed with her mother back in their village. Sleeping on a big bed alone must be lonely.

Miranda noticed her dirty torn clothes had been changed to a plain white gown reaching just below her knees. It seems like someone had given her a bath and changed her clothes while she was asleep.

Miranda knew she needed to get out of this room before the blood suckers came back, although she doubt she would go far with her weak and hungry she was.

She tried to come down from the bed but her legs refused to bludge.

Miranda's face paled in shock when she realized her legs were bound to the bed with thick chains.

"No,no,no,no this can't be" she muttered in panick, her voice hoarse.

She tugged the chains with her weak hands but it was like trying to move a mountain with a stick. She could feel the remaining strength she had draining rapidly from her body, her vision was beginning to sway.

Miranda collapsed back on the bed from exhaustion after a few minutes of trying to free her legs from the thick chains.

She was no fool, she knew it was impossible to break free from such thick chains with nothing but her hands.

She stared at the ceiling lost in thoughts. She wondered how her mother was doing.. was she ok? She hoped her mother wasn't crying herself to sleep. Miranda knew she would never see her mother again, getting out of here was impossible and even if she managed to escape from the castle, she knew she wouldn't last on the streets with no money.

She might even become a free meal to one of the bloodsuckers on the streets.

Tears of despair down her cheeks, she felt absolutely helpless. And hungry.

Miranda laid on the bed lost in thoughts for over an hour, she had stopped crying as she knew crying wouldn't solve matters.

Just then the heavy doubt doors swung open and the black haired vampire entered the room wearing an all black outfit with a black coat.

He looked like he had just stepped out of hell with that sinister grin on his face.

Miranda instincts screamed for her to run away from him, his aura was too dark and suffocating. But where and how was she going to run when her legs were bound??

" You're finally awake" he said while moving to sit beside her on the bed making Miranda flinch in fear.

" I thought you would never wake up. You have been asleep for the past two days, and I thought you were broken or something. I had already asked the servants to bury your body if you didn't wake up tonight. I had even gone ahead and prepared a grave for you, I didn't know your name so I just asked the cemetery keepers to write 'my little white swan' on your grave"

Miranda stared at the vampire in shock, her lips parting in disbelief. Was this guy mentally ok? She didn't think so. No normal person would speak of burying a person without confirming if they were dead.

" Don't look at me like that, I had no intention of abandoning you when were finally buried. I even made plans to put fresh white lilies on your grave. See?" He pointed at the white lilies she saw earlier on top the table.

"W-wh- what?" She managed to croak out

Was this vampire serious or was he just messing with her? The serious look on his face told her he was 100% serious. Was this guy allowed to run free ? Shouldn't he be at a mad house or was every vampire mentally ill?

" Well good thing you woke up on time, it would have been sad to bury such a fine specimen" he leaned over, his fingers threading through her silver hair.

Miranda was too shocked and scared to move, her weak body trembling in fear and apprehension, she hoped he would take whatever he want and just leave the room.

" You have such beautiful hair" he leaned down sniffing her hair with his eyes closed in pleasure, making her recoil in fear.

What was wrong with this man? Didn't he know what personal space meant?

He suddenly straighten up like he wasn't just sniffing her like a creep a moment ago.

"What's your name?" He asked curiously.

"Mi- M-" she croaked. Her throat was beginning to hurt badly and she was surprised she was still conscious given how long it had been since she had a proper meal.

" Does your throat hurt? I have some wine here to help you soothe the pain" he said frantically

Miranda eyed the vampire in shock. Was this guy trying to kill her? Giving her alcohol on a very empty stomach could kill her or was that what he wanted? Given he had already prepared a grave for her.

She shook her head frantically

"No? You don't want wine? Should I ask the maids to bring you some food and water then?" He asked curiously.

Miranda nodded her head in relief. This vampire was going to be the death of her
