Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Beginning of a Life Without a Future!!

Safira returned to Dry's room and laid him on the bed. Shortly after, Jun appeared at her side.

Jun enveloped Dry in his Domain and searched for any anomalies. Although he did not have Tanya's knowledge of living structures, he understood the basics needed to know when someone was well or unwell.

He searched again and again but found nothing abnormal in Dry—neither biologically, nor in the laws that compose him, nor in his soul.

— Anya said he might take some time to wake up, — Safira said to Jun, looking tenderly and worriedly at Dry sleeping on the bed.

Jun hugged her, and together they stayed in Dry's room for the rest of the day.

Dry began to regain consciousness. He opened his eyes first and, in his peripheral vision on the left side of the bed, saw his mother and father sitting in an armchair.

"Now that's a nice sight to wake up to! What the hell was that" — this was Dry's first thought, remembering the agonizing pain from before.

He tried to move his arms to greet them. He felt his arm lift and move in the direction he wanted, but then realized the arm had never actually moved.

He tried again, and the result was the same. He tried to move his head to look properly at his parents, but it would not move. He felt the motion, yet his body remained completely still.

"What's happening to my body?" Dry thought. He could feel his body normally, but no matter what movement he tried, he achieved nothing. It was like the difference between a practical test and a theoretical one.

— Good morning, my dear. How are you feeling? — noticing that Dry had opened his eyes, Safira greeted him.

Shortly after, Jun said with a smile on his face:

— Brat, you're always causing trouble. Your mother got really worried.

After receiving no response from Dry, who only blinked without any other movement, they realized something was wrong.

Once again, Jun enveloped Dry in his Domain to check if something was wrong. The result was that nothing was wrong with him, yet he could do nothing but move his eyes.

— Anya, come to Dry's room immediately, — Jun whispered.

Tanya, who was taking a walk through Canan Square, felt Jun's call and immediately vanished from where she was, reappearing in the room. There, she saw Dry on the bed with open eyes, and Jun and Safira with concern written on their faces.

— What's going on? — Tanya asked, confused. She didn't understand; wasn't it a good thing that Dry had woken up?

— Anya, something's wrong with Dry!! — said Safira, worried, holding back her tears, because tears wouldn't help her son's situation.

Hearing this, Tanya enveloped Dry in her Domain and examined him very thoroughly.

— How is this possible!!!! — Tanya shouted in astonishment. She was visibly frightened.

— What is it, Tanya? — Safira and Jun asked at the same time.

— Normally, there is a bridge that connects a being's soul and body. Dry's bridge is gone. It's as if it never existed, — Tanya replied, horrified by what she saw.

Hearing this, Safira and Jun, although not fully understanding what it meant, knew from Tanya's reaction that it was neither good nor easy to deal with.

— Could someone have attacked Dry's soul?? — Safira asked, her eyes cold. A murderous atmosphere seemed to envelop the entire room.

Jun was in the same emotional state, as if he wouldn't be okay unless blood rained down.

After some time, the two calmed themselves and controlled their emotions.

— Even if someone wanted to destroy this bridge, it's impossible. Either the entire soul is destroyed, or nothing happens.

— And you seem to have misunderstood. I didn't say the bridge was destroyed. I said it doesn't exist, Tanya said to the two, slightly irritated. In her 130 years as a healer, she had never seen such an anomaly.

— There are many theories about this bridge, also called the "divine link." Some believe it is what evolves the body and spirit together, Tanya continued. — This is currently the most accepted theory. Others say that the entire being is the soul, and the body is only a vehicle, with this bridge allowing the body to be mobilized.

— I think that since Dry doesn't have a bridge, his body does not communicate with his soul. But I can't say for sure if it's something else, Tanya said, looking at Dry with pity.

"What bridge!! Hey, tell me what's happening to me" — Dry thought, addressing the unit.

[Responding to the agent: an anomaly in the agent's soul has been detected that could endanger the unit. Since it is not possible to remove this anomaly, the secondary containment protocol has been activated.]

"Anomaly? Danger!!!?... What are you talking about?" — Dry thought, confused by what he saw.

[The agent's soul is evolving to a level where it communicates with the rules. The secondary containment protocol removes the agent's ability to exercise this skill.]

"Rules!!! When did I ever communicate with that!!?" Although he already suspected what the unit meant, Dry pretended ignorance. In his memories, he saw what could be called the basis of existence. And if that thing is like he remembers, then danger for the unit is indeed possible.

[The agent's soul will be purified every two days to eliminate the transformation caused by the rules. The unit cannot detect when the agent came into contact with the rules; it only detected the soul's essence transforming in that direction.]

Upon seeing this, Dry lost any desire to argue with the unit. He had long realized that this thing was a machine that only follows protocol and doesn't care about anything else.

— Anya, do everything to bring Dry back to normal. I don't care what or whom you have to ask, but you must find a solution, — Safira said firmly to Tanya, leaving no room for question.

— You have full autonomy, and the clan will handle any problems that arise during the process, Jun added, holding his son's hand.

Dry felt Jun's hand warm, just as always.

— Understood, Tanya replied, lowering her head. She was very afraid to tell them that there was nothing that could be done. Even the greatest soul specialists in the

universe do not understand the divine link.

How will she find a solution for Dry?
