When Akira came off the court, he quickly spotted Isshiki Iroha nearby.
Hayama Hayato also caught sight of her. He glanced at Akira, then walked over to the bench.
Isshiki Iroha approached, holding a drink in her hand, and stopped in front of Akira.
"Senpai, here!" she said, handing him the drink.
"You were going to give this to Hayato, right?" Akira asked lightly.
"Since Hayato senpai already said it, I naturally won't bother him. The reason I came to see you, Senpai, is because I find you… interesting. Please don't misunderstand me~," Isshiki said, sitting down next to him.
{T/N: She is referring to the scenes where he said he already has someone he is interested with}
"Are you free this afternoon?" Akira asked casually.
"Senpai, you're so direct! I'm not that kind of girl, you know" Isshiki said, surprised.
"I just want to know if you're free. I didn't mean anything else," Akira replied, glancing at her.
Isshiki blinked, then slowly realized what he was implying.
"Senpai, you're so sly. You clearly want to ask me out, but you pretend otherwise," she muttered, pouting.
"Then what exactly is the meaning of your coming to see me?" Akira asked.
"I'm just curious about you, Senior. Do you think I like you~? I'm sorry, I don't have that kind of feeling, yet. You're a good person, I…"
"There must be a lot of girls who dislike you, right?" Akira interrupted.
"How did you know that, Senpai? Did you investigate about me?" Isshiki blinked. "I don't understand why some people dislike me. Am I not cute~?"
"Do you really not know the reason?" Akira said, his eyes on the match still ongoing on the field.
Hachiman and Saika was against at each other.
Isshiki looked at him, then fell silent.
Why was she disliked by other girls?
Of course she knew about it!
She had a vague idea about what the reason may be, but not the full picture.
Some girls were jealous because the boys in class thought she was beautiful. Others didn't like her personality.
As a result, she had almost no friends.
The few girls she could talk to were only there because she had initiated the conversation.
"Your personality makes it difficult for many girls to befriend you. But in my eyes… you're not troublesome. You're cute," Akira said, finally glancing at her.
"Senpai, am I… really cute?" Isshiki stammered.
"Yes. Very cute," Akira nodded.
"Although I'm a little moved, I still cannot accept you. Unless you only like me and keep your distance from other girls," she whispered, turning her head.
Akira said nothing, instead looking back at the court.
Isshiki waited for a few minutes. Seeing no reaction, she puffed up her cheeks and turned away.
"Senpai is really mean…" she muttered.
"You know I have a girlfriend, yet you still approach me. Between the two of us, who's worse?" Akira asked.
"I… I'm just curious. I don't have those kinds of thoughts about you, Senpai. We can just be friends," she admitted.
"Girls who approach me as friends often… end up becoming my girlfriends," Akira said lightly.
"Every girl?,"
"Almost every girl"
"Senpai is scary, but I have confidence. I won't fall for you that easily," Isshiki said, clenching her fists.
"Really? Then do you dare to go on a date with me?" Akira asked, voice calm as usual.
Hearing that, Isshiki almost agreed, but after some thinking she hesitated.
If she said yes, wouldn't that imply she had feelings for him? Yet if she refused, she would appear to confirm his words.
She looked at him carefully.
"Senpai, you… you did this on purpose…" she whispered.
"It seems you've caught up to my pace. Not bad. You've made progress," Akira replied.
After speaking, Akira stood up.
"Senpai, where are you going?" Isshiki stood too, as she asked.
"Where I need to go," Akira said, walking away.
"I want to come with you!" Isshiki called after him, as she follows.
"You'll be far away from me in ten minutes," he said.
"I won't stay away, Senpai," she insisted.
"You will," Akira said lightly.
.....
Ten minutes later,
Outside the restroom corridor, Isshiki looked out at the distant scenery.
"Senpai…you baka" she muttered to herself in resentment.
.....
In the afternoon, school ended.
Isshiki packed her bag and left the classroom, walking toward the tennis courts.
"Senpai, I won't lose to you again!" she muttered to herself, determined.
.....
Ten minutes later, at the tennis court, Isshiki sat on a chair, waiting for Akira.
Hikigaya Hachiman and Totsuka Saika were the first to arrive.
They noticed her and exchanged awkward glances.
Totsuka Saika then walked over to Isshiki.
"Totsuka senpai, where's Akira senpai?" Isshiki asked.
"This is from Fujimiya kun," Totsuka said, pulling out a neatly folded piece of paper.
Isshiki felt a sinking feeling in her chest.
Could he have predicted her thoughts?
She unfolded the paper. There was no text, only an illustration resembling a manga panel.
Her eyes widened.
The figure in the drawing was her, and the words next to it mirrored her own thoughts:
"Senior, I won't lose to you again."
Totsuka Saika watched Isshiki in silence, then quietly left.
Isshiki's mind raced.
Could it be that Senpai have superpowers—someone who could see the future?
As she looked closer at the drawing, she quickly noticed a line of very small text.
"Is this… his contact information?!" Her eyes sparkled with excitement. She quickly saved Akira's contact and sent a message:
"Guess who I am."
Not long after, Akira replied.
.....
In the Yukinoshita family's car,
Akira replied to Isshiki's message and put away his phone.
"Who was that?" Yukino asked.
"I don't know," Akira shrugged.
"A message from a girl, right?" Yukino pressed.
"I think so. Although I haven't received a love letter yet, there are probably quite a few girls who like me," Akira said with a smile.
"Hmph, what a lousy guy," Yukino snorted, turning her head in mock anger.
When—
Akira gently hugged her waist.
Yukino didn't resist, nor did she look at his way.
"My little Yukino is so cute. Even if she's jealous, she won't be really angry. She's simply the best girlfriend in the world," Akira whispered in her ear.
"You're the worst boyfriend," she muttered, a hint of resentment in her tone.
"Yes, yes, I'm the worst," he said without denying it.
"After you meet my mother and get her approval… Will we…" Yukino trailed off, her face flushing.
"Will we, what?" Akira blinked innocently.
"What do you think?" Yukino said, trying to glare at him.
"I don't know what you're thinking, Yukino," Akira smiled.
"Then guess. If you can't, don't even think about touching me in the future," she said shyly.
"I can't guess… but I still want to tease you," Akira held her tightly.
"You lousy jerk!" Yukino exclaimed, realizing he was deliberately provoking her.
.....
The car stopped in front of Flash Animation.
Akira and Yukino got out.
Today, Akira hadn't come for Madoka Magica's animation, but for the Flash Animation itself.
The Flash animation had been in Haruno's hands—or the Yukinoshita family's. It was originally meant for Yukino, but now, because of the video platform, Akira needed it first.
If it remained with the Yukinoshita family, Madam Yukinoshita could easily ruin his plans.
Akira had to owned the Flash animation completely to secure the exclusive anime section for the website.
Haruno understood this too, which was why she had intended to sell the Flash animation to Akira.
