A mythic rank bloodline, the world tree's saint, an elf of the royal lineage and capable of casting spells of all elements. This was peak main character material.
Silvan was the same as Blaze, being a legendary SR class, too hard to acquire in the game. At his peak, he was able to flat a whole city with just a single spell of his, gaining the title of 'Annihilator' from the players.
This was an unimaginable team that had formed. Either Silvan or Elena alone could have completed a mission, but now, both of them were in the same team, no one had any doubt about the top scoring team now, they were standing right there on the stage, team 52.
Being a mage and how humble he was, unlike the other aloof ones, Silvan asked Elena to go forward with a smile on his face, so as to select their mission, giving up the position of team leader without a tiny bit of hesitation.
Elena was a bit surprised, she looked at the other three, who nodded at her in affirmation. Seeing all of them believe in her and collectively agree on the leader position, Elena thanked them all and moved forward with determination.
After she pulled out a chit, showing the mission to Zarnak and her teammates, they walked down to take a spot among the crowd.
After one other team, it was now Grey's turn to get a team.
"Number 54!"
Grey moved out of the row and started walking towards the stage. Four more followed him as they now stood on the stage.
Just like when Elena's team evoked gasps of shock from the crowd, Grey and the others got a similar reaction, the shock was no less for them, as this too was an unimaginable coincidence.
All five of them were the lowest scoring entrants of the year from each class.
"Pftt!!" majority of them had hands over their mouth, dying of holding their laughs. Some had a look of pity, while some laughed mockingly. The team to score the lowest has appeared too. Even Zarnak and the other representative professors, except Thorgar, shook their heads in disappointed.
Grey checked their stats, trying to gauge out the strength this team would hold. His brows creased with worry and disappointment. All four of their levels ranged from 21 to 24. The girl from the mage class was surprisingly the lowest, level 21.
The one from the B class was an assassin, he only had a few dagger skills with being able to hide his presence. The A class was a Shield warrior, and the one from S class was a swordsman, the only one with some decent skills to hold his ground.
Grey was highly disappointed with the mage, she had pitiful stats, being a mage, even her intelligence stat was a miniscule 38, even lower than Grey who was an aura warrior. And also, she had a single spell in her arsenal, fireball.
"I guess you all have no problem in me being the leader, right?" The mage declared aloofly. Her attitude a complete reversal of her prowess.
Grey kept his silence. He had no desire of being the leader. Even the one from S class decided to back off. They had no hope of the team they had fallen into.
Seeing no one objecting, she proudly moved forward towards the mission chit box. She pulled out a piece of paper from the box and unfurled it to look at the mission.
After the assistant professor jotted their mission down under their team number. She then moved towards Grey and the others, and passed the paper towards them.
They checked the mission one by one, all giving a weird look when they read the words on the paper. Finally, the chit arrived at Grey's hands, his face contorted into a weird look too as he read the words.
'Investigate the abandoned haunted house in the west side of the residential complex of the city. Multiple reports of weird shadows and creaking, wood scratching noises have been made since a few days. Investigate and solve the problems if any.'
"Guess even the heavens pitied this team of mine!" Grey chuckled, seeing the details of the mission. He guessed it was probably the easiest mission that had been in that box.
Zarnak kept calling out one number after another, the teams kept on forming and getting their missions allotted. After a long hour, the last team got their missions. They walked down and took the empty spot below.
There were now hundred teams scattered all around the auditorium, where the rows of students from each class, stood earlier. Just when they were getting familiar with each other and discussing amongst themselves, Zarnak's voice roared throughout the hall, piercing their eardrums.
"ATTENTION!!"
The murmurs stopped immediately, all the eyes below now moved towards the stage, their gazes now focused at Zarnak.
"You all have three days to complete the mission assigned to your teams. Your first priority is to see the mission to the end. Even if you somehow are unable to complete it, your points will be evaluated based on the degree of completion, participation of all the members and effort."
"Though this is a team mission, each of you will have individual scores and evaluated separately, based on your actions and efforts poured into the test and also behavior towards your team."
"Riding on the coattails of others, and getting a free ride, would not be tolerated and will reflect in your individual scores." Zarnak said sternly, his eyes squinted as a wave of pressure spread throughout the hall, making all of them tense up.
"I hope all of you will take the test with utmost seriousness. Diligently work on your missions and foster a good companionship between each other, and most importantly, all of your pass this test with flying colors." Zarnak said with a smile on his face, easing the tense nerves of the students with his warm words.
"Your three days start right from this moment. Let the midterms begin!!"
