Dear Diary,
Today was my third day at my new school. I'm slowly starting to find my way around. I know the names of about seven classmates I sometimes sit with at lunch (although the canteen often feels overwhelmed so I prefer to eat outside). Most of the teachers seem nice, too. They're very calm, although there's one teacher who seems to harbor a grudge against everyone, but she doesn't seem to have noticed me yet. I'm trying to keep it that way.
The school bell still startles me. They have a different bell here than I'm used to, and sometimes it still startles me. But other than that, I think everything is actually going quite well. I feel much calmer and more at ease.
Anyway, today we had our first gym class. Something I felt a little uncomfortable with. Since it was the first class, we mainly had a sort of introduction to the gym teacher, Ms. Patterson. We played a few games, and at the end, she wanted to play a ball game, but I decided to stay on the bench. Luckily, she was pretty free to do that today. I'm just not looking forward to the next classes; it might be a bit less free.
After dinner, I'm lying in bed scrolling through Instagram when I come across several posts from my old school. Apparently, they had an activity day today, because there are several photos on their social media. I immediately close the app. Then my sister knocks on my bedroom door to talk. I send her away; I wasn't in the mood to talk anymore.
I have a feeling this new start might just work out well. Let's hope it was the right choice.
