Chapter 14 - Black Roses

Sean began to understand the situation. His mother had misunderstood the initials engraved on his ring. Sean approached Nathalia, his hand reaching out to touch his mother's shoulder, but Nathalia immediately pushed it away. Closing his eyes, Sean began to explain what had actually happened.

"The initials S ♡ A stand for Sean and Anne. I call Liora by the name Anne." Hearing Sean's answer, Nathalia's body went limp, her hands resting on a pillar. Anne?

Anne was the special nickname Sean gave Liora. The name was taken from Liora's middle name, Vivianne.

Nathalia glanced at Liora and then left, leaving Sean and Liora behind. Sean turned to Liora, his eyes full of questions, and took a deep breath. There were so many misunderstandings that needed to be explained to Liora.

The atmosphere grew tense. Only Liora's sharp gaze was fixed on Sean. The romantic dinner from a few hours ago had turned cold. There was no romantic night after the proposal.

Only two people were busy with their own thoughts. Sean spoke up, "I can explain."

Liora looked at her conversation partner, searching for sincerity in his eyes.

"What else do you want to explain, huh? What else, Sean? If you like Alexa, why don't you propose to her now. RIGHT HERE!" she said sarcastically.

Sean shook his head slowly. Seeing the person in front of her made her feel very lazy, so she chose to leave Sean.

"That's why you have to give me time to explain this. How can this issue be resolved if you won't even listen to my explanation!?" Sean chased after Liora.

Liora turned around. Tears streamed down her face. Today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. She took a deep breath and looked at her conversation partner.

"I don't think you really love me. Do you realize that? YOU LIKE ALEXA!"

Sean approached her, his hands reaching out to embrace Liora, but she immediately pushed him away.

"You're misunderstanding, that's just in your head. I do care about Lexie, but only as a friend. Nothing more."

Liora chuckled. "Only as a friend? We started out as friends too, Sean."

"Give me time." Sean watched Liora leave. He looked up, roughly wiping his face. Then he shouted.

Liora left with a heavy heart. She was tired of all this. She didn't know what to do. Staying away was the best decision for now. For some reason, Liora always felt that Sean loved Alexa, even though Sean always denied it, but the way he treated Alexa said it all.

A woman's intuition is never wrong. The look in Sean's eyes when he looked at Alexa. It was more than just friendship. Sean's anger when Alexa found out that Liora had a relationship with him. That wasn't normal. What made Sean always reject Alexa and choose Liora instead.

Just friends. Those were the two words Sean always said when Liora felt jealous seeing how close he was to Alexa. It was just a way to calm her down, but in reality, Sean's behavior towards Alexa never changed.

By the way, just friends. Seraphine also knew that Julian was Clara's boyfriend, but they still had an affair. The affair between her three friends became a trending topic on campus.

One month later

The door to the room opened. Her steps were unsteady, her body leaning against the wall. With the paper in her hand, her eyes slowly scanned each sentence. Fixated on one word written on the paper. Her eyes closed, she couldn't accept this reality. The smooth paper had crumpled, and she threw it into the trash can beside her. Her hand moved gently, touching one of his body parts. She still couldn't believe the fact she had just heard from the doctor. Pregnant?

Alexa looked up, her gaze straight ahead. The corners of her lips turned upward. Soon, the man emerged from the examination room. His smile widened as he walked toward her and embraced her.

"I'm going to have a baby." The man hugged her. He breathed in the scent he had longed for. The mother of his child. Alexa returned El's embrace. She closed her eyes, trying to feel this news more deeply. What was this feeling? It was truly foreign to her.

"I'm scared." Her voice was barely audible. Slowly, El released his embrace. He looked at Alexa, his hand reaching for hers.

"Everything will be okay. I'll take responsibility." He tried to reassure Alexa.

Prince Gabriel Pierce is the only child of the Pierce family. He is the man who always accompanies Alexa when she is in Denmark. He cares deeply for her and loves her very much.

"Will I be a good mother?" she whispered. El immediately released his embrace, gazed into Alexa's eyes, and then pulled her away from there.

After they left, footsteps approached the trash can. Her hand moved to pick up the crumpled paper. Her eyebrows raised, her eyes wide open. How could this be?

The woman stood in front of the mirror, staring at herself in her dream wedding dress. The day had arrived. Sean would prove his words. She gave him one more chance, she would trust Sean. She loved him deeply. She didn't want to leave Sean or be left by him.

A smile spread across her face. Recalling the difficult journey to reach this point, Sean and she would build their dream family together. Soon, that dream would become a reality.

On the other hand, Alexa and El got out of the car. They had come to attend Sean's wedding. The two looked perfect together. El held Alexa's hand. It wasn't just a normal handhold, but also a source of strength for her.

At first, El forbade Alexa from attending Sean's wedding, fearing that she would be sad afterwards. However, Alexa clearly disagreed. She would attend her best friend's wedding. Alexa had come to terms with what had happened.

Sean had chosen Liora. It was a bitter reality that she had to accept. Alexa turned her head. Here she was now, with the man who loved her deeply. Alexa felt that was enough.

The corners of her lips turned up as she looked up at the sky. The sky was clear. Holding El's hand, she entered the wedding area. Her eyes feasted on the beauty before her. The wedding decorations stood majestically, proof of Sean's great love for Liora, filled with Liora's favorite flowers. Black roses added to the elegant feel.

Alexa saw all the guests looking very elegant and handsome in their white dresses. The dress code for this blessing ceremony was for everyone to wear white, except for the bride and groom.

They wanted something different from everyone else. They chose not to wear white like most brides and grooms. White was too pure to describe their passionate love story, which was born out of understanding.

Sean entered the altar, looking perfect in his champagne colored tuxedo. Champagne was the color chosen by both bride and groom. It wasn't as flashy as gold, but it was shiny enough to attract attention as he stood among the guests.

Sean searched the crowd for someone, his eyes fixed on a woman who was talking to the man next to her. The man was quite popular among the upper class.

A voice is heard. Sean turns his head, his hands clenched.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please stand to welcome the bride."
