Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 Accidental Death

Chapter 79: Accidental Death

"Then we're leaving."

After an unappetizing breakfast, Lu Ze and Cecilia tidied up and walked to the entrance hall.

"Wait a moment."

Ms. M said softly, walking in front of the two and touching their faces.

Feeling Ms. M's fair and tender fingers tracing his face, Lu Ze felt a shiver run down his spine.

"Don't move."

Ms. M's fingers brushed Lu Ze's eyes and ears. He felt the lump of flesh within him, not his own, begin to move upwards. A bulge wriggled onto his face and spread out, causing his eyes and ears to ache instantly and bleed.

"Alright."

Ms. M lowered her hand. One of her eyes had changed, turning from golden to a deep blue—the blue of the Longdaoer siblings' eyes.

"You've shared our sight and hearing?"

Lu Ze asked, gritting his teeth, with blood tears flowing from one eye. His heart gradually grew cold; Ms. M indeed had a way to monitor them.

He looked at Cecilia. In his Secrets Supplicant eyes, he could see blood aura swirling around one of his sister's eyes and ears, red and corrupted, encircling her head. The other end of the blood aura was connected to illusory eyeballs and ears.

—If he were to look in a mirror at this moment, Lu Ze would likely see the same things on himself.

"That's right, so don't try to say anything to anyone." Ms. M smiled, "I know you're not afraid of death, but you care deeply about your sister. As soon as I detect any small movements from you..."

She made an explosive gesture, "...your sister will turn into a blood and flesh bomb."

"Understood."

Lu Ze said indifferently.

"It's good that you understand. Be careful when you go out. Also, remember to bring back the auxiliary materials when you return; we'll help you advance tonight."

Ms. M said, standing in the entrance hall, gently seeing him off.

Stepping out of the house, the sun was bright, but Lu Ze's heart was heavy. He had to be extremely careful from now on, or Cecilia would truly be in danger.

— — — —

"Good morning, Lu Ze!"

At Blackthorn Security Company, Rosanne greeted him cheerfully.

"Morning."

Lu Ze forced himself to cheer up.

"You have dark circles under your eyes. Are you alright?"

Rosanne noticed the fatigue on Lu Ze's face.

"I just didn't rest well last night." Lu Ze smiled.

"Oh right, you went to see a play last night." Rosanne said enviously, "Sleeping so late, you must have had a really good time."

Yes, it was absolutely delightful.

Lu Ze was speechless and changed the subject, asking, "Where's the Captain?"

"There have been a few haunting incidents in Morse Town. He, Klein, and Leonard took Sealed Artifact 3-0782 and left last night. They should be back around noon today."

Rosanne replied.

No one is here.

Lu Ze thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll go out on a patrol too, to see if there's any danger."

That's what he said, but his real intention was to go to the underground market to buy auxiliary materials. Even though he was very unwilling, for Cecilia's safety, he could only endure it.

— — — —

Riding a public carriage, Lu Ze arrived on the streets of the dock area, and the "Evil Dragon Bar" came into view.

It was bright morning, and even the bars in the dock area were quite deserted. The boxing ring was empty, with only two or three idlers already lost in drink, soaking in alcohol from early morning.

However, after passing through the door behind the bartender and entering the underground market, the scene immediately became lively.

Lu Ze, with a cold expression, moved among the various vendors, buying materials one by one according to his list.

Wolfsbane powder, viper venom... After Lu Ze finished buying things, he suddenly felt a strange fluctuation to his left.

What is it?

Lu Ze looked over and saw a pale young man leaning against the market wall, dressed in crude work clothes. He looked desperate and terrified, trembling and muttering to himself.

He had overflowing spirituality. Lu Ze frowned, recalling what Klein had told him: there was an orphan in the underground market who had one foot in the Beyonder Pathway.

"Admiralsol?"

He walked over and called out the other party's name, "What are you afraid of?"

"Dead people, all dead people, there are no living people left in Tingen City! I'll die too, everyone will die, everyone will be eaten by her..."

He ignored Lu Ze and continued to mutter to himself.

"Everyone will die? Be eaten, her?"

Lu Ze frowned, sensing a dangerous undertone in Admiralsol's words. He reached out and pushed the other party, "Speak properly to me!"

Admiralsol was pushed by him and involuntarily looked up, meeting his gaze.

"Ah ah ah ah!"

He stared blankly at Lu Ze, then let out a terrified scream. Blood spurted from his eyes, ears, and nose simultaneously, like a uniquely shaped showerhead. He covered his face and stumbled away, not daring to stay with Lu Ze for another moment!

Their voices were too loud, and people from nearby stalls looked over, but Lu Ze glared them back with a cold stare.

What's wrong with this guy? He's even more sensitive than me, a Secrets Supplicant.

Lu Ze frowned, got up, and chased after Admiralsol. He hadn't gotten the answers he wanted from the other party yet. However, as soon as he chased out the back door of the bar, he heard a commotion outside, as if someone was causing trouble.

Stepping out of the bar, Lu Ze saw a crowd gathered across the street, all looking up and shouting chaotically.

"William, don't do anything foolish!"

"By the Storm Lord!"

Lu Ze followed their gaze upwards. On the roof of the two-story building surrounded by the crowd, a man and a woman were entangled. The man held a dagger to the terrified woman's neck, crying profusely and roaring:

"Shut up, all of you get lost! She lied to me!"

The woman's screams, the man's cries, and the mixed sounds of jeering, mocking, and dissuading from below created an exceptionally lively scene.

Lu Ze noticed that the Evil Dragon Bar's owner, Svein, was among the crowd.

"What's going on?"

He walked over and asked.

"Hmph, a fool who was played by a woman." Svein's face showed an expression of disdain. It turned out that the man named William had been seduced by a streetwalker, squandered all his family fortune, and then she immediately abandoned him.

Svein shouted up, "You scoundrel, get down here quickly! Don't disturb my business!"

So the man upstairs cried out a few more times, roughly meaning he would die with the woman.

"So annoying!"

Svein scratched his head and said to Lu Ze, "Do me a favor and keep an eye on him here. I'll take people up to the roof to control him."

"No need for such trouble, leave it to me."

Lu Ze shook his head. He squeezed out of the crowd, went around to the back of the building, and tapped the Clown doll. His body suddenly became light and swift. He grabbed onto the window sills and other protrusions on the building, quickly climbed to the roof, and rushed towards the man.

The man heard the Clown's peculiar laughter. As soon as he turned his head, Lu Ze had already rushed in front of him and threw a punch, hitting the hand holding the knife. He screamed, clutching his arm.

The woman took the opportunity to escape. Seeing Lu Ze's face, she said infatuatedly, "Thank you."

"Get lost!"

Lu Ze said impatiently, "Do you want me to beat you!"

Startled by him, the woman immediately screamed and ran downstairs.

The man named William watched her leave without looking back, a desperate look in his eyes. He turned and rushed towards the edge of the building, and amidst the exclamations of the crowd, he jumped down without hesitation.
