Signs had begun to tell them they were moving in the right direction, having started in a tunnel and for several minutes now running through multiple dark, artificial caves — clearly built to confuse trespassers.
But Jayden still had a bad feeling. Whatever it was seemed to be drawing closer. He could barely sense it, but it was certain.
And that meant two things:
Either the unknown was something far higher-ranked than he was, or it was some far lower-ranked creature with the slightest aura.
'But would a low-ranked beast prey on a higher-ranked tamer?' Jayden asked himself.
It's just like an ant declaring war against a boot— only by luck can it escape death.
The thought made Jayden even more unsettled and cautious.
He spoke in the Zariks' language, passing a few pieces of information to the swarm.
Not long after, the Zariks changed trajectory into a more spacious area.
