Who knew having powerful enemies was so thrilling?
Jayden had to manipulate his teammates into walking close to other students while returning to the campus, but even so, he could see the malice waiting to break free in the gaze of the top ranks.
Attacking the lowest team in public would be such a disgrace, and that was what Jayden used in getting his teammates safely back to the campus, seeing that they hadn't noticed how Troy's group were eating them with their piercing gazes.
It was almost midnight, and after some chit-chat between Jayden and his roommates, of course, Tyler was sure to tease him on how he knew when to dodge the professor's punches.
And yeah, no bros would forget the most important scenes of the day.
Zoe's warm collision.
But even after all those warm talks, Jayden was finding it hard to sleep; thoughts kept arising in his head until something really important surfaced.
'I should loot Draco's memories and see what I can find'
He adjusted himself on the pillow, looking straight at the roof from untop the highest bunk.
He began thinking harder as if he were in a calculus examination, looking for those faint things which he knew were there but were too blurry to read.
The first thing Jayden came across was dragon cultivation.
He dived deeper and began to understand that there was really nothing like dragon cultivation.
In the realm where dragons lived, they didn't need to absorb mana; it was abundant in the air, and so it self-diffuses into their bodies. As a result, the older a dragon, the stronger it was.
And here on earth, humans had to compromise since mana wasn't so abundant, and even if it was, mana poisoning would claim many lives, just like 750 years ago when this whole evolution started.
And now, it all got Jayden thinking.
'What if I found a way to keep a consistent inflow of mana like dragons do?, although it would obviously be slower since the mana concentration in the air was low.
He began putting two and two together..
Mr Williams' class section about mana spikes, the way he absorbed mana from the wind core days ago, and Draco's memories.
'For the method I used the other day to work, I would have to keep a consistent warmer inner environment.'
But that was impossible since weather and seasons could change, so how would he keep it consistent no matter the circumstance?
It's like trying to keep a fire burning while pouring water on it.
While thinking hard, he found out that dragon scales could naturally absorb mana, meaning unfusing with Draco would allow the inflow of mana into Draco's body, which would be shared with him once they bonded again.
'But I can't do that since I have two roommates sleeping together in one bed.
For that, he would have to wait till he had started growing dragon scales, and of course, that's a long time from now.
After so much thinking, the genius had to surrender. He couldn't beat science.
It had been proven by Claude Bernard that all living organisms maintain a stable internal environment despite changes in their external environment.
So there was no possible way to keep the body consistently hot when it fought to maintain balance except for death.
'The only way out' Jayden gave a deep breath, 'is to keep a regular set of activities that would keep me consistently hot. Maybe I'll call them thermoregulation activities'
Stuff like eating hot food, physical exercises and even rising emotions.
Jayden sat up to try it. He was already hot enough since the only source of air in the room was a window.
Firstly, he'll have to ensure his aura isn't flaring above his body surface so it doesn't obstruct the inflow of mana
The circumference of his body was large, so he needed to massively trigger an inflow at all parts at once.
He held his breath for thirty seconds... one minute...
Before his body started adapting, looking for ways to compromise to get oxygen into the body and of course, its last resort was the skin.
Blood vessels widened and the flow of blood increased, making it harder for him to lose the heat within while opening up to allow the inflow of air through sweat pores
Jayden gulped for air, his chest rising and falling. He had established the inner flow, but with this, he had to keep a continuous heating schedule.
But at least even though slow, he was increasing his mana compatibility with each second.
A squeak sound cut through Jayden's thoughts of excitement.
He watched Ryan leave his bunk without looking back and headed outside the room.
Jayden wanted to follow but he assumed Ryan just wanted a break from the suffocating heat.
He went back to how excited he was. Now he found the motivation to really go in search of crystals even knowing that might raise suspicion if he was seen.
He had to ground his egg man status properly and ensure everyone looked down on him.
That way, he could collect crystals among crowds, and people would only say; he's trying to feel among.
If possible, share his crystal collection in half and sell one half to generate money to furnish the room, that way, he wouldn't raise suspicion.
Jayden picked up his phone and checked his timetable schedule for later today since it was already 1:00AM.
He had arrived at the academy on Monday, took his first classes on Tuesday, and today was Wednesday.
The first period was free for him. He didn't know about Tyler and Ryan, but he already had plans for those precious times.
He would try strategically collecting some wind crystals at dawn in the school farm.
The estimated number of properly mature crystals needed in a Draco's elemental cultivation was five thousand, and he was only one hundred crystals down the list.
But thanks to his thermoregulation, mana absorbing method, it would take less the number of crystals.
'Then after the farm, I could scrap a bit of time to find the beast technology hall and see how much this drive can tell me."
