Yixuan wiped away her tears, then turned around and helplessly comforted Ju Fufu, her face full of resignation.
What even was this? Why were you the one crying your eyes out?
"Alright, alright, don't cry. Fufu is Yunqi Mountain's senior disciple, you know." Yixuan gently patted Ju Fufu's head.
"Master, don't pat my head! I'm not an orange cat!" Ju Fufu protested while still crying.
Of course her master knew she wasn't an orange cat… but who told you to be so cute that people can't control their hands?
"Master, why didn't you wipe the soup off your hands?" Ju Fufu suddenly remembered something. When Yixuan had been eating char siu buns, it was inevitable that some of the sauce would stick to her fingers.
"Uh…"
Yixuan's soothing motion abruptly stiffened. It did seem like there really was a bit of sauce.
But not anymore.
The sauce had transferred from her fair, tender palm to Ju Fufu's hair.
Seeing this, Yixuan felt a little guilty. Yep—this was definitely her fault.
"Ahhh! Now I have to wash my hair again!"
Ju Fufu wailed in misery, then turned and ran into the nearest room. Sauce stuck in your hair would absolutely feel awful.
"Big Sister… back then, I remember you were struck by the Qingming Sword…"
Yixuan didn't think her memory was wrong. By the time she arrived, it had already been too late.
"Indeed. The Qingming Sword's backlash is irreversible. Koji saved me, so I could see you again, little sister… even if only a few more times." Yijiang said softly.
Yixuan gave Koji a grateful look, then asked, "Big Sister… the last things you said back then—because of the Qingming Sword's influence, I forgot them at the time. But now I know everything."
"Is that so?"
"Then yes, that really was what I meant. I didn't do all of this for the world. I did it for you—only for you. For my Yixuan… so you could live."
Yijiang paused for a moment, then smiled.
She didn't have some grand, world-embracing heart. From beginning to end, the only person she truly cared about was her little sister.
Healing the world and saving lives… that was only to protect her Yixuan.
"Big Sister, you're the one who didn't keep the promise—'I'll be the only one who lives on~.'" Yixuan said helplessly.
Back then, they'd clearly agreed… and yet her big sister was the one who broke her word.
Yijiang was embarrassed too. After all, she really hadn't kept it.
"Still… welcome back, my big sister." Yixuan hugged Yijiang, her slender arms holding a strength ordinary people could hardly imagine.
Yijiang didn't feel any pain. She hugged her sister back.
For her, it hadn't been long since the last embrace. But for her little sister, that last embrace had been many years ago—how hard-won this moment was.
Koji and the others didn't interrupt. They simply watched quietly.
The hug lasted a long time. Both of them savored the fullness of reunion after a long separation.
"Yixuan—compared to back then, you've really… developed well." Yijiang teased.
That hug had given her a very obvious sense of pressure.
If there were children one day, with reserves like that… the kid definitely wouldn't go hungry.
Miyabi's bust was also very impressive. Could it be that if you wanted Void Hunter-level combat power, your figure also had some influence?
"Big Sister, don't joke like that." Yixuan was also embarrassed.
Her sister's teasing was too much—she couldn't keep a straight face at all, and her cheeks flushed red.
She knew her figure was great. She ate normally; maybe it really was just genetic talent—making her an official member of the "big bust club."
Yijiang nodded and didn't keep laughing at her.
"I still have one question. I saw Big Sister disappear with my own eyes. How exactly did our benefactor save my sister?" Yixuan asked, confused.
"For me, even a brief instant is enough time to do many things."
Yixuan nodded thoughtfully and didn't ask further. Having her sister back was the biggest surprise of all.
"You saved my sister. If you need anything, just say it. I'll do everything I can to make it happen." Yixuan said seriously.
When Yijiang heard that, her heart immediately thumped.
So it was finally coming.
Her little sister was about to become someone else's… and it made her feel sour.
Someone who could choose to sacrifice herself for her little sister—of course she was a total sister-con.
To be honest, Yunqi Mountain's reputation was huge, but there really wasn't much there that Koji cared about… except Yixuan. She counted as one.
"What if I want that Hakimi—Ju Fufu?" Koji asked.
Eula and the others froze. Yijiang froze too. This wasn't following the script at all.
They all thought Koji would name Yixuan. Instead, he asked for Yunqi Mountain's senior disciple—no one expected that kind of development.
Yixuan frowned. She was only Ju Fufu's master. How could she make a decision for Ju Fufu in a matter like this?
"Ah, Master, I don't want to leave Yunqi Mountain!" Ju Fufu rushed over and hugged Yixuan's leg.
Koji immediately felt Ju Fufu's "fierce" yet adorable glare. It was unbelievably cute.
"Hakimi, don't you want to repay your master's benefactor?" Koji decided to tease Ju Fufu a bit.
"I'm not Hakimi! Who knows what you want me to do—" Ju Fufu replied "viciously," even puffing herself up.
"Can you pick something else?" Yixuan said awkwardly. She knew Ju Fufu definitely wouldn't agree.
"Sure. Then your sister?"
Koji still refused to play by the rules.
"Me?" Yijiang looked blank. Why was this suddenly about her?
"No." Yixuan was the first to reject it. Her sister had only just returned—she absolutely didn't want her sister leaving her again.
Ju Fufu's mouth twitched. Master, seriously… why weren't you this anxious just now? That's some double standards right there.
Sure enough, pride couldn't compete with the truth.
"Then I'll replace my sister—how about that?" Yixuan blurted out without even thinking.
No!
Yijiang saw the curve of Koji's smile and instantly understood his scheme. Rather than directly asking for Yixuan, he was forcing Yixuan to volunteer on her own.
This move was vicious.
"I'm kidding. I'm a very kindhearted person—when I see injustice, I can't help but step in."
"Then what about me?" Miyabi raised a question. Why did she have to be the girlfriend?
"Because I like Miss Ya, of course." Koji said righteously.
Long live Miss Ya.
Miyabi immediately got embarrassed. No one of the opposite sex had ever expressed their liking for her so openly, right to her face.
Yixuan fell silent. Was her charm really inferior to Miyabi's?
Figure-wise, neither of them was lacking. But in height, she clearly crushed her—after all, even counting Miyabi's ear height, she was only about the same as Yixuan.
Both of them had Void Hunter-level combat power too… yet for some reason, Yixuan felt a sting of defeat.
