Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: Big Sister’s Char Siu Bun

Wei Feidi.

"Are you an orange-tabby Thiren?"

"Of course not! I'm a tiger Thiren—rawr, rawr!"

Ju Fufu looked so cute that people instinctively associated her with a kitty, even when she was trying to roar like a fierce tiger.

But Ju Fufu hated being called an orange-tabby Thiren the most. The image she wanted was "majestic and intimidating," not "adorably squishy."

"What a cute little tiger," Yijiang said with a faint smile.

With that tigerish little head and tigerish little brain, she forced herself to keep her hands under control and not reach out to rub Ju Fufu's head.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't use 'cute' to describe a tiger Thiren. But… you kind of look like my master."

Ju Fufu sized Yijiang up. White hair, golden eyes—her master, Yixuan, looked like that too. Even Yijiang's outfit had a bit of that Yunqi Mountain style.

"Then take a guess," Yijiang asked with a smile. "Do you think I have anything to do with your master?"

"Let me think… Master Yixuan mentioned her older sister before, so… are you Senior Aunt Yijiang?" Ju Fufu thought it over. Someone who looked this much like her master had to have some kind of connection.

"Very smart."

Yijiang reached out and gave Ju Fufu's head a gentle rub. She had to admit—the handfeel was incredible.

"Wait, no—stop rubbing! Didn't you… didn't Senior Aunt die?"

Ju Fufu puffed up in indignation.

If people kept patting her head, she'd never grow taller.

"In your eyes, I really did die completely. At the time, I thought so too," Yijiang said with a sigh. "But later, Koji saved me."

After suffering backlash from the Azure Abyss Sword, she had been on her last legs—one foot already in the grave. But Koji had used some method she couldn't understand, yanking her back from the edge of death.

How unbelievable.

He was like the dawn that always arrives after endless night.

"I see." Ju Fufu looked at Koji solemnly and said, "You saved Senior Aunt Yijiang, so naturally you're an honored guest of Yunqi Mountain."

Even if she wasn't the sect leader, if Yixuan knew, she would make the same decision.

"Koji, you didn't save me because you're interested in my little sister, did you?" Yijiang suddenly thought of Miyabi.

If Yixuan wanted to repay a life-saving debt, she might really end up becoming Koji's… who-knew-what-number girlfriend.

What a headache. Yijiang had full confidence in her sister's looks and figure—an absolute knockout—and on top of that, she was a Void Hunter–level powerhouse.

A woman like that made plenty of people want to conquer her.

"This? I wasn't interested before," Koji said with a grin, "but now that you put it like that, I suddenly have a few thoughts."

The best thing about Yixuan was those thick, meaty thighs—especially when wrapped in black stockings. Those black-stocking legs made people want to get squeezed between them.

And she was white-haired too. For men from Axia, that came with an extra, special kind of bonus.

"This isn't funny," Yijiang said dryly.

"Don't lay a hand on my Yixuan."

Ju Fufu didn't really understand this kind of adult topic. Did this mean her master had to repay him or something?

"We'll talk about it when the time comes."

"Ju Fufu, contact Yixuan," Koji said. "Tell her an old acquaintance is visiting, and have her come over. Don't say it's Yijiang—just treat it like a surprise for her."

Ju Fufu nodded. No problem. She was looking forward to seeing her master's happy face when she saw Senior Aunt.

Yixuan hadn't had any commissions lately. After Ju Fufu contacted her, she arrived quickly.

"Fufu—what old acquaintance?"

After getting the call from her disciple, she'd been puzzled. She didn't have many old acquaintances to begin with, but she still came to take a look around this place.

"?!"

Her footsteps halted abruptly. The calm composure of the Yunqi Mountain sect leader vanished without a trace the moment she saw Yijiang. The expression on her face shifted like the weather turning.

At first, there was anger. Then, caution. Then… confusion.

Who am I? Where am I?

Yixuan was basically in that state. Her older sister—who had died long ago—was standing in front of her, completely intact.

It wasn't that she didn't want her sister back. It was that she knew something like this couldn't possibly happen.

No one knew the storm raging inside Yixuan's heart. All they could tell was that she was utterly lost.

"My Yixuan—want to eat a char siu bun?" Yijiang took out the char siu bun she'd bought ahead of time. After so long, it was almost cold.

"…Big Sister… is it really you?"

Yixuan's voice trembled. She didn't dare believe it, rare weakness showing on her face.

Back then, the two sisters had no one to rely on. They could only survive by stealing food from roadside stalls. Whenever they were caught, her sister would stand in front of her—like an adult—shielding her from wind and rain.

Those days were hard, but Yixuan never complained even once.

Because her sister was there.

Later, they joined Yunqi Mountain, and life improved. But disasters caused by the Hollows forced Yunqi Mountain to descend the mountain to save the world. So many disciples died… and she lost the sister she loved most.

Her sister wasn't even that much older than her, yet she had carried her on her back for such a long road.

To Yixuan, Yijiang was the closest person in the world—her only family.

"Sorry, Yixuan," Yijiang said apologetically. "The char siu bun is a bit cold now."

"It's fine. I want to eat it."

Yixuan shook her head, took the bun from Yijiang's hand, and ate it bite by bite.

The doubts in her heart scattered. Now she could be certain—this was her sister, Yijiang.

Drip… drip…

It wasn't the same taste as when they were little, but Yixuan still ate with deep satisfaction. Tears slid down her cheeks, leaving two faint tracks.

After so many years, she could still eat a char siu bun bought by her sister. That happiness couldn't be described with words.

It was so good…

No banquet delicacies, no treasures from sea or mountain, could compare to a char siu bun her sister bought.

"Eat slowly. Don't choke," Yijiang said gently. Her warm hand brushed lightly over Yixuan's cheek, wiping away the tears on her face.

"Mm. I know," Yixuan said, nodding, savoring the bun slowly.

"Waaah…"

Ju Fufu couldn't hold it in anymore. Little golden beans spilled from the corners of her eyes.

The sisters' reunion didn't involve a dramatic hug or loud sobbing, but that peaceful, time-softened atmosphere hit her right in the tear ducts. The tears poured out like a floodgate opening.

She really couldn't help it—she was just so happy she got to be Fufu.

Koji shook his head helplessly. The sisters weren't even crying like this, yet this disciple was bawling her eyes out. What was wrong with her?

Still… it really was moving.

Wasn't this why he tried to fix regrets—to see moments like this?

He lived however he pleased, but he was also willing to see a reunion end like this.
