Chapter 5 - Adventure towards the Capital

Day 8,

As it happen to be, the capital city of the kingdom I have wondered into happen to need me to cross the forest while avoiding the mountain range. Preparations shouldn't take... too long, so I should be able to get moving tomorrow. I have also gotten the chance to tag along a group of traveling merchants who needed to hire adventurers and mercenaries for protection against the upcoming dangerous forest. They had a few men but could use more.

Day 10,

I have been on high alert the whole time in case they were to actually be aggressive or something, you never know what will happen in a medieval type world and betrayal to survival could have been or should I say should be pretty common. The only thing that was actually bothering me was an... elf, who I very well could tell was trying to hide the fact that she was an elf. It might have been because I am from Earth or something but I was not being effected by whatever magic she was using and could to say feel her eyes glaring daggers into me. I am sure that she knows I can tell she is an elf...

Day 12,

The travel has not been much except a lot of walking, hunting for animals and fighting a few monsters that show up every once in a while. I have noticed till now that most people are around 5 to 6 feets in height, slightly weaker and malnutrient which is most likely because of the world's setting being around the 6th century. I would probably get to know more when I reach the capital city but one thing is clear which is they are much more healthier but lack high medicinal knowledge which is being replaced by religion and Holy powers... I think. I have only came accross 3 churches in nearly 12 settlements. Magic seems to be rare but engraved into this world.

Day 14,

It has been nearly a week since we started travelling towards the capital and it seems it will take another week before we are there. Travelling by foot is really tiring and slow but I am getting to know a lot of the world. From culture, religion, mentality and everything. It sure was a good thing the Elf mage has stopped staring daggers at me and has gotten certainly friendly then before, might be because I stepped in to save her when a troll attacked. Strength is not everything, but it certainly does need a stady body to take a hit from those hunk of muscles. Honestly I wanted to know more about magic and mages as well as how they do it so I needed her to survive and it happened to have helped me get close enough to her that I can start a friendly conversation without worrying about getting striked down by her magic. I do not know if mages are just highly dislike, feared or there is some kind of stereotypes about them but she was doing everything alone and I could see they others hesitating in approaching her. After hours of conversation, I am understanding that she do likes company but is very shy and alert. I do not know enough about this world to know if it's because she is an elf or another reason for her overly alert actions.

Day 17,

I do not know why I was asked to write at max 3 days gaps and to also write my emotional condition, so here is what happened last 3 days. A lot of traveling, we are currently crossing by a mountain side path. I have also noticed at almost everything in this world is at least 3 times larger then on Earth, except humans and animals, only including the ones seen on Earth. It certainly is calm, but not a friendly place for anyone to live because as of what I can see monsters are... to say the least, ruthless. Only other notable thing we came across was a completely destroyed Goblin Camp, with well... human and animal bones. It seemed to have not been used in months, according to others those are Forest Goblin tracks. The truly cruel and evil thing is that most of the human bones by size should be teens and children...

Day 19,

We came across a cave and decided to end the day there because we are early on the schedule and everyone is starting to get a bit tired by now. The reason I am writing this is because we walked into a "Goblin Nest". A typical den of Goblins from fantasy media, with a few defences. The nest had hand made wooden cages and small traps, while the Goblins themselves had from stone weapons and tools to iron, which from look were mostly crafted from stolen scraps of iron. One thing was clear again, Goblins are impulsive, most of the time nimble, small humanoid crearures with some form of intelligence giving the fact that they were coordinating using sounds and noises while also being aggressive enough to jump with iron knives. It was good that the cave's other end was blocked because or most likely a human actions not to mention the cave felt more like a tunnel when we were entering. It also turns out that it was an abandoned path which which was probably recently re discovered by the Goblins. We were able to use it as a short cut to the other side from where a straight travel begin.

Day 20,

Because of the short cut we were able to reach the Capital city much earlier then planned. The merchents paided us then left and I was able to get in my way to the library. I was able to also get to know why I was getting side eyes when I wrote in the Diary, it was because most people who knew to read and write are nobels and richer folks. I was writing in English so, they probably couldn't read what I was writing and my mediaeval styled leader armor made with morden tech which means it looked better than anything they have seen. I am sure they think of me as a foreigner travelling. I didn't had to really explain much, which was better than being asked if I was a rich fellow travelling or a runaway nobel man at the very least.
