Chapter 3 - Father Where Are You?

After the daily break down of his muscles Deacon after preparing at least a short sword and then a dagger tried to find any remnants of the priest and where he could've been taken. Starting with any rumors and left over memories the villagers might've had he learns about a specific rumor about the Priest's habits. The priest had an indulgence with one of the trade caravan women who were also a slime. Turns out a slime is great at keeping food stuffs refrigerated since their bodies are around a cool 31 degrees Fahrenheit. The thought disgusted Deacon for a multitude of reasons, but he held his breakfast in. Holding his intrusive thoughts in he followed the clues towards the forest nearby where he began to look for more clues.

Eventually stumbling upon the supposed forest where said Priest had been dragged towards Deacon looked around the outskirts until he found bits and pieces of slime residue dissolving grass. Deciding this was the right place he followed the remnants and walked into the forest. From another place in the world Jacob was panicking about where Deacon was headed trying to think of a way to warn Deacon or direct him back towards the village. He decided he would make this trip as quick as possible for Deacon with a few hints since he could easily watch over and give him warnings through the connection they share. "Quest line codenamed 'Guiding Light'. Yeah... probably a bit too on the nose but heck might as well call it what it is. Baby sitting..."

A notification flashed within Deacon's psyche. "Quest given. Follow the lights to find clues to the priest of Illias." A light started to shine through into the forest past a clearing at the roots of a nearby tree. "At the sound prompt please hide in the bush and hold your breath for 20 seconds. Imminent danger nearby. Try to keep calm and do not make eye contact. Avoid all magic touched plants or residue."

Deacon surprised pleasantly at first then read the rest of the notification. He had no clue who the hell was guiding him, but he was sure they definitely could be trusted for now. A few moments into the forest he heard a chime and silently hid within a bush holding his breath as long as he could and watching for movement. As bushes rustle and twigs snap what came out surprised him. A woman with sharp ear and a green tunic holding a bow and a quiver around her hip somewhat on edge.

"I know you're here somewhere... Come out come out wherever you are..." *A notification flashed within Deacon's mind* "Stay perfectly still and hold your breath for 15 more minutes. then advance towards the guiding light to escape. From Task Manager"

Deacon held his breath as best he could until the lady had moved on past him and then as he caught his breath he snuck carefully until a twig snapped. This situation continued until he got to a clearing where thankfully he could catch his breath.

"Who are you?" Deacon thought as he advanced towards the pillar of light and then saw bits and pieces of slime as a message appeared in front of the light.

"Forgotten me already, have you? Remember your falling buddy? I won't stand on ceremony so go ahead and duck for me yeah?" Shortly after the message ended Deacon felt the air behind him focus on a point near the lower left of his back then with a clumsy shift he rolled to his left and turned to see his attacker.

"Hmm... This is a good time to let you learn how to deal with this one and save you some time on training uselessly with that Devil in maid's clothing. So as you can see you surlrise is important in how a battle goes. Never let your guard down and keep yourself movi-" Just before he could read the last point Deacon moved as best he could behind a tree to get his attacker the Elf woman to have a harder tome of tracking him.

He picks up a rock and throws it at where the last attack came from in hopes of slowing her down as afterwards he turns and runs deeper into the forest.

"You probably should stop reacting like that and I don't know maybe mask yourself in some dirt grass and a bit of grime? Might make her give up."

Deacon wondered if the messages would ever shut up but he didn't say anything back focused on his escape and subsequent success of his system mission. "So you know how magic and stuff works right? Try not to get pinned by any arrows and focus on my explaination ot the enemy chasing you. She's a magical creature. She touches you? Horny, She wounds you? Horny, She so much as looks at you wrong? Horny. So do you best to keep it in your pants. Even if you thought of this before. She uses wind magic to increase her arrow's speed sp that means she isn't just some run of the mill foot soldier. If you wanna survive you need to use your magic yes you heard me right Magic! Your though snd will turned form. Try not to force too much but guide it. It should easily flow where you direct it. You can use something similar to her wind to increase your speed maybe. Try it out when you're behind a barrier of trees towards the closest guide light."

Just as the explaination was reaching its mid point Deacon felt something wrap around his ankle and pull. An unfamiliar voice rang out. "Lets cut this cat and mouse game short shall we?" The Elf woman was pulling an arrow out of her quiver while one hand juggled between holding the bow and the vine now connected to him.

Jacob shook his head and grumbled. This wasnt working out how he though it might go. "Well... That elf is either gonna kill him or feed on his protein packet then try to enslave him... I wonder..." Working out the many functions he has access to he find one titled Blasphemy Barrier Magic and starts downloading the information as quick as he can using a chord he fashioned from magic slowly until it resembled a heavy duty extension chord with a large usb on the end which he started poking the book to see where it had a port to it.

"Weird how these resemble modern tech so mu-" Shortly after he lost himself in the rapidly running knowledge going through his eyes and into his head. Unable to sort it all immediately Jacob just lay there spasming from jolts of magical electricity. Lo and behold the chord was attached to his brain stem which was causing all this hassle. Soon after he got up and shivered feeling extremely hot and cold at the same time as he cycled everything basic into formable thought snd forced it onto Deacon just as a certain elf was about to enjoy her paralyzed prey.

Deacon awoke from the magic affecting his mind as a new notification sounded off within his head. Blashpemy in progress uploading Defensive techniques. Please wait system processing... Process failed. Rebooting system... System reboot successful ... System uploading the most basic defensive magic techniques able to be used by host. You have gained Clarity Shield. Critcal ecstacy disabled. Magic resistance raised. Prepare for emergency magical venting.

A wave of magic affecting everything with a 5 meter radius of Deacon erupted and cause the busy Elf to tumble away and cough as black sludge removed itself from her body from her eyes mouth nose and ears choking her until it was finished. Deacon seeing this shook himself fully awake and got up putting his underwear and clothing back on as he ran away. Back to the village. Leaving a confused and choking elf.
