Avelina did not expect him to be here at all. She was surprised that she felt so relieved—she did not know why, but she just wanted to leave this house. How could she be living with people who did not believe her at all?
How could they think she was not okay? And even though she had begged them that she was okay, they only looked at her worriedly, as if she did not know what she was saying. She wanted to cry—it was so painful.
All she wanted to do was to meet Roxie. That was the only safe place for now, and when she finally calmed down, she would come back home. But for now, she would have to go.
Why was Mr. Reid here? She had not called him for anything and definitely had not told him her address. But she was very glad—it was better he was here than seeing ambulance people instead.
