Chapter 49 - Knock Knock

[AN: SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!!! It's an extra chapter because I felt like that last chapter was too short and also I passed my exams so this is my way of celebrating. Thank you all for sticking with this story. Also PJO won but Bleach was a close second so I'm adding it too.]

——————————————————

The first thing that I noticed was the odd lack of sensations. It was like I was floating in a sensory deprivation tank.

Then there was something.

I say something because I don't really know how to describe it, it was a ROB, a big glowing figure that was like someone spamming the 'random' button repeatedly on a character creation menu.

"…never thought I'd see you again." I muttered as my senses slowly returned.

"I like your new name, 'Satoru', it's very… you." The ROB said.

I couldn't tell if he was smirking, "What's that supposed to mean, and why the hell did you drag me away from my family?"

"I didn't."

"Huh?"

"I didn't drag you from your family, that was your sword, she's currently pulling you into her inner world and I just happened to hitch a ride." The ROB drawled.

"Cool, what now?" I hummed.

"You remain as unbothered as ever." The ROB chuckled.

"You say that like it's a bad thing."

They didn't answer immediately. Instead the glowing figure pulsed once, then suddenly I felt as if I had taken a shot of caffeine.

"There, I'm making a few adjustments."

I frowned, "You better not be nerfing me…"

"No, you've reached a point where you deserve a gift. So consider this a sort of boost if you will. Leveling the playing field so that you can carry on as you have."

"So you gave me more hax?"

"Not exactly, I merely tweaked your Cursed Energy. You can consider it more like Universal Energy now, be it Ki, Chakra, Jujutsu, or just plain magic, you will now be able to use it all."

A wide grin formed on my face, "Sick… so I'm compatible with everything now. I can cast fireball, make someone's nuts suddenly weigh like a million pounds, or even close someone's butthole."

The ROB sighed, "Just don't let the power get to your head."

"Oh… I won't. I'll have fun with it though."

"Whatever you do with this new ability is up to you. However, I have not changed your offspring's energy types. They are the new origin of their unique energy in your homeworld."

"So they're going to be the founders of Jujutsu… I already saw that coming so I'm not surprised." I sighed, "what else?"

"Nothing more. I'll release you now."

"Huh, good talk Bossman."

"Farewell, Satoru."

My vision blacked out again, I was starting to really hate not being able to see anything. Having lived with the Six Eyes for years now, it bothered me to no end. It was like suddenly going from 8k 1000fps, to 144p at 3fps.

When I finally regained my vision I sort of wish I didn't.

'Why is there so much pink… for fucks sake, why didn't my sunglasses come with me on this acid trip.'

I was currently standing in what looked like every E-Girls wet dream. Pastel pink walls, plush fuzzy carpet, posters of anime and games. A huge flatscreen tv, a rgb PC setup. There was even a mini fridge with energy drinks stocked inside.

"What… in the absolute multiversal bullshit is this?" I muttered to myself.

"Kukuku… looks like someone has finally visited Ama-chans lair." A cutesy voice came from behind me.

Sitting on a gaming chair was a girl, maybe thirteen at most. She had long hair the colour of molten sunlight. Her eyes were golden and slightly glowing with small stars.

She was wearing an oversized hoodie that said 'OPPAI' and she was holding a gaming controller in her small hands.

"…you've got to be kidding me." I groaned.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" She cried out in indignation.

"Who's lost child is this." I pretended to look around for someone.

"Hey! I'm not a child!" She huffed.

"Sure you aren't… who are you."

"Tch… what an idiot. You don't even recognise the sword you created."

"Sword? Wait… you're my sword spirit?"

"Duh… what did you expect? Some sort of ugly hulking brute?"

"No… well, sort of. Why do you look like a kid?"

"It's easier to game like this." She responded as if it answered everything.

"Uh-huh… and why the hell does this place look like a NEETs bedroom?"

She pouted, "You asshole… you create me then leave me to gather dust in a corner for years. YEARS! I had to entertain myself somehow. With our connection I managed to dig through your memories."

"Wait, wait wait, you looked through my memories?!"

"Well yeah… how else is a gal supposed to keep herself from getting bored."

I sighed through my nose, "Fine. Whatever."

She crossed her arms, "You're the one who never talked to me. What did you expect? I'm part of you, y'know. The least you could have done was say 'hi'."

"Forgive me, O' Goddess of Anime, I've been really busy raising four kids with my adorable wife."

She smirked, "Oh I know… I've seen you getting busy with Mitsuri."

"You can watch me? Wait… how the hell are we even connected?"

"I was created with a large chunk of your energy dumbass." She rolled her eyes. "And stop changing the subject, you made me then just threw me aside like some candy wrapper."

"Sorry, I didn't think you'd end up with an actual consciousness. Cursed Tools don't exactly come with an instruction manual."

"Fine whatever… so long as you don't abandon me again."

"Sure… what's your name?"

She scoffed while crossing her arms and looking away from me. "Why would I tell you that now? You need to earn it."

"Earn it?"

"Yeah, I'm not a Cursed Tool anymore, I haven't been since I absorbed that Sun Cursed Spirit."

"Then what are you?"

"From your memories… I'd say I'm closer to a Zanpakuto than a cursed tool."

"Oh sick… I have my very own Zanpakuto."

"Don't let it get to your head, you still need to learn my name."

"Can't you just tell me?"

"No."

"Fine… then why did you pull me here?"

"I wanted to talk to you… and I wanted to tell you to be careful." She plopped down on her Hello Kitty bed.

"Be careful? Of what? I'm literally untouchable. No one in this world has any spatial ability from what I'm aware, and I can literally warp space and teleport."

"Not of the asshole gods and goddesses. You need to be careful because they have noticed you."

"Who? Don't play the pronoun game with me." I asked.

"THEM, the soul assholes, they're part of the Shinto pantheon here."

"The Soul So-"

"Yes them, don't say their names. It'll give them power."

I chuckled, "Who the fuck do they think they are? Fucking Voldemort? Getting power from people saying their names."

"It's not that," she rolled her eyes, "there's one of them that can sense beings like me."

"So?" I crossed my arms, "let them come, I'll shove a Hollow Purple down their throats if they threaten anyone I care about."

She sighed, "Of all the masters… I really had to get stuck with the one that thinks he can win every fight."

I grinned, "Obviously… I am the strongest."

"Do you rehearse that?" She stared at me.

"Nah, I-

"Never mind, what's important is that I'm here now, and that you finally remembered me."

"Are you finally going to tell me your name?"

"No, but I can tell you what I can do."

"Do both your blades work the same?"

"Both?"

"Yeah, didn't Tetsutaka and Tecchin forge two blades when they made you?"

"They did, but that second blade isn't a part of me."

"What? How does that even work?"

"That second blade is something for you to figure out." She shrugged.

I shook my head and pinched the bridge of my nose, "Fine, tell me what you can do?"

A smug grin formed on her face, "Hehe… my Shikai state burns, and everything I burn gets erased. Not sealed, not purified, it gets erased. Completely."

I whistled, "That's a bit… much."

"Oh that's nothing… wait till you learn to use my Bankai."

"You really don't want to tell me anything else?"

"Nope." She grinned, "figure it out on your own, it's more fun that way."

"Well, I guess I'll just have to go antagonise a few people, give myself a reason to use my sword."

"Sure, go ahead, I've been dying for you to use me."

"Oh my… you want me to use you? How lewd." I smirked.

"Fuck off! Baka! Hentai master! Go away!"

She threw a pillow at me, I laughed even as I was slowly being pulled back to the real world. The last thing I saw was my sword spirit flipping me off before the light swallowed everything.

When my eyes opened again I was laying on the grass holding onto my sword tightly with one hand while my other hand was being held by Mitsuri. She looked concerned.

"Tousan! Papa! Dad!" My kids all shouted at the same time.

"You're awake." Mitsuri sighed in relief.

"Sorry… just had to talk with my sword for a bit."

The kids gave me a deadpan look while Mitsuri glanced at the sword in my hand. I got back up to my feet and looked around. We were still on the hill not too far from the camp.

Thankfully no one noticed us, and the kids had been smart enough to not wander off.

"How long was I out?" I asked Mitsuri.

"Five minutes, not that long." She replied.

"Sorry to worry you guys." I turned to my kids and apologised.

"Otousan… did you really talk to your sword?" Hikari looked at me skeptically.

"Yeah, it was as weird as it sounded."

"Waku waku… Papa, does your sword have a name? Ai asked.

"Not sure yet, she told me to figure it out on my own."

"I've never heard of a Cursed Tool doing that before." Himari noted with Hikari nodding along next to her.

"Dad, can I hold it?" Akira asked.

"Not yet, son, I think she might still be a little annoyed with me." I chuckled remembering my parting words with my sword.

Mitsuri giggled, "Leave it to you to somehow annoy your sword Darling."

[Scene Break]

The trees thinned as I led my family through the dense trees towards the barrier. I could feel the monsters at the edge of the treeline. They were wary of me.

'Strange… they should have attacked by now. Oh well, not gonna complain.'

"Otousan… can you feel that?" Hikari asked me.

"The monsters or the energy around us?" I replied.

"Both."

"Yeah, the energy is coming from the barrier that's keeping the monsters out."

"Why hasn't anyone killed the monsters?" Himari said as she kicked a pebble towards the trees.

"Mari-nee, I don't think they can."

Himari turned to Akira, "Why not? We saw them, they're all armed and clearly know how to use weapons."

"Maybe the monsters keep coming back!"

The twins and Akira turned to Ai, "Did you hear something from someone's head Ai-neechan?" Akira asked.

Ai shook her head, "Not from a human, I got pictures of a weird hole that the monsters come out of. It looks like they keep coming back since this monster keeps thinking about the hole."

"Pit, it's a pit." I corrected, "monsters revive in this bottomless pit every time they die."

"Wow papa knows so much." Ai looked at me with shimmering eyes.

I waved her off, "I just read a few books."

"Tousan look, we're here." Himari called out.

I turned back to the path we had been walking on. It ended right up at the barrier. The shimmering wall of divine magic rippled like water.

"What happens if you touch it?" Hikari stepped forward.

Himari pulled her back, I stepped past everyone and examined the barrier. My Limitless seemed to be able to phase right through it.

"Let's find out." I grinned.

I knocked on the barrier.

The forest went still.
