Chapter 7 - Under The Titan

Leon Everlance — a beast among Star-tier slayers. He owns the Titans Wrath guild and is known across the world for his brutal strength. People say he's ruthless, the kind of man who doesn't tolerate weakness. Some whisper that he once wiped out his own raid team for disobeying him... and smiled while doing it.

It's also said that he isn't soft on rookies who come looking for internships — especially those who think their parents' names will earn them respect. To him, strength is the only currency that matters.

Now I, Adrian, don't really care about all that. I'm honestly just doing this for the grades — nothing more, nothing less.

---

We headed off to our respective guilds — or at least, that's what I thought. Apparently, my idiotic friend decided to tag along with me instead.

"What? You needed me to go with you" he said, flashing that smug grin of his. "You know I'm as beastly as they come, right?"

But I could see it — the slight tremor in his voice, the way his grin twitched at the corner. Beneath all that fake bravado, Theo was nervous as hell.

"I know that you shouldn't be here — not supposed to be here!!" I said, my tone sharper than I intended. Theo's grin faded for a second, but I kept talking, eyes locked on the towering structure ahead of us.

"Anyways, you do know what we signed up for, right?" I asked, tilting my head toward the building. It was massive — sleek and shining, made almost entirely of glass. The sunlight hit it just right, making it look like something out of a dream.

"Crazy, isn't it?" I muttered, half to myself. "This whole building's owned by a Star tier slayer. I can't even imagine what the guilds for the Monarch tiers must look like."

We stepped through the glass doors, and immediately the air changed — colder and sharper. The lobby looked like something straight out of a movie: marble floors, tall pillars, holographic displays floating midair, and the faint hum of mana-infused machinery.

Then she appeared — a woman in a sharp black suit that fit her like it was tailored by gods themselves. Silver-gray hair cascaded neatly over her shoulders, and her blue eyes gleamed with calm confidence. She had that aura — the kind that made everyone instinctively straighten up.

"Hi there," she said with a poised smile, her voice smooth but commanding. "You must be the students from Nova Academy who signed up for the internship. My name is Evelyn — Mr. Leon's secretary and an S-grade slayer. I'll be your tour guide for today."

Theo and I exchanged a look.

An S-grade slayer? Just for orientation?

Crazy. To be escorted by one of the world's top slayers — and Leon Everlance's personal secretary at that. I couldn't help but be amazed… and a little intimidated.

As we moved through the halls, Theo and I couldn't help ourselves — cracking jokes, whispering dumb comments about how ridiculously fancy everything looked. To my surprise, Evelyn actually laughed a few times. Not the fake polite laugh, either — a real one.

Two hours. That's how long the tour lasted. Two hours of training halls, mana chambers, sparring rooms, simulation pods, and offices filled with people who could probably destroy a city with one hand.

I thought we were done, finally. But apparently, there was still one more stop.

"For our last destination…" Evelyn said, her heels clicking crisply against the marble floor as we walked down a quieter hallway. The walls here were darker, lined with faintly glowing runes.

At the end of the passage stood a door — one of those heavy office doors that somehow felt important just by existing.

She stopped in front of it and turned slightly toward us, that calm, professional smile still on her face.

"This," she said softly, "is Mr. Leon Everlance's office."

Me and Theo froze for a second — the words "Mr. Leon Everlance" hit harder than a punch.

"Ah!" Theo squeaked before clearing his throat, trying to act tough. It didn't work. His voice still cracked like a scared kid.

We both stared at the door as if it might explode any second. A Star-tier Slayer. Not a myth, not a face on a poster — a real one.

We kept walking, stiff as boards. My palms were sweaty, Theo's grin had turned into something halfway between a smile and a scream.

"I can't believe this," he muttered under his breath. "We're about to meet him. A real Star-tier Slayer."

"Yeah," I whispered back, heart pounding. "And I'm really hoping we don't embarrass ourselves in the process."

Evelyn's knock echoed softly, almost like a secret rhythm that belonged only to those inside. A click, the door swung open, and there he was.

Leon Everlance. Star-tier Slayer. Owner of Titan's Wrath. The man whose reputation alone could make grown warriors tremble.

Oddly, I felt calm — unnervingly calm. Every second of panic from before seemed to dissolve the moment I stepped in. My pulse was steady, my hands relaxed, and my mind eerily clear.

Theo, on the other hand… he looked like he was about to burst into tears. His face was pale, lips quivering, hands fidgeting. It was obvious: he was terrified.

All that was left for him now was the thought that he might very well shit himself.

"Welcome, students," Leon said, his voice calm but carrying that unmistakable edge of authority that made the air itself tense. "My name is Leon. From today, you two will be trained by me personally. And… there will be no questions, right?"

Huh. Was this guy serious? No… he was insane. More than a few screws missing, for sure.

I couldn't help but think, how the hell does someone just tell us their name and immediately order us to be their students? My surprise practically screamed inside my chest, but the calm aura he radiated made it impossible to respond with anything but silence.
