Adrian's Study – The Next Day
Raya stepped into the study, the faint scent of leather and paper lingering in the air. Adrian didn't look up from the stack of documents spread across his desk.
"You called for me, Mr. Blake," she said, her voice steady.
"I did," Adrian replied, still signing without sparing her a glance. "We'll be leaving this place tomorrow. Heading back to my estate."
Raya blinked. "Alright," she said like whatever he had to say had nothing to do with her.
He flipped another page. "Also, you'll be spending a few days with Seraphina's family."
That made her head snap up. Now this has everything to do with me. "What? Why?"
Spending time with Seraphina's parents—why? For what reason? she thought.
"I'm sure you heard me clearly," Adrian said flatly.
"I did," she muttered. "It just doesn't make sense… living with her parents? That's such a hard task," Raya said.
"I'm sure you can do it well, Seraphina," Adrian said, still signing the documents.
