Back to Adrian's Mansion
Raya didn't hesitate. She grabbed Anna's hand and led her quickly to her room, her heart pounding. As soon as the door closed behind them, Anna turned to her with wide, desperate eyes.
"Miss Seraphina? Raya?" Anna asked, her voice trembling with confusion.
"It's me, Anna. It's really me," Raya said, nodding quickly, as if her movements could convince her friend faster than her words. "I'm Raya."
Anna stared at her. The woman standing in front of her looked like Seraphina Hart—the poise, the elegance, the polished appearance. But there was something raw in her eyes, something only Raya could carry.
"If you're really Raya," Anna said slowly, "then why are you here?"
Why would Raya end up at Adrian Blake's mansion? It made no sense.
"I missed you," Raya whispered, her voice cracking as she threw her arms around Anna. Anna hugged her back, still unsure, still searching her face for certainty.
