The battle for New York continued to expand. In less than half an hour, even the urban areas ten kilometers out were infested with alien robots.

On the periphery of the war, a teenager in a jacket and a baseball cap swung through the air on a web, landing hard on the ground. He drove his fist into an alien robot, the force of the blow shattering its chest and cracking the ground beneath it.

Leo exhaled a hot breath and looked up at the sky. The blue beam of light that had caused the invasion was still there, a hopelessly strong beacon of destruction. Even if they could close it now, the alien legions that had already descended upon New York were a formidable force.

New York was on the verge of falling.

I've almost mastered the spider ability. It's time to go find Nami, he thought, a sense of urgency in his heart.

He was about to leave, but then he saw the ruins of a collapsed residential building, and on the half-destroyed iron fence, a string of addresses. The address was familiar. He reached into his jacket pocket and took out a piece of paper. The address on it was the same.

Pietro! he thought, and rushed to the front of the ruined building, shouting the boy's name.

There was no response. The house had completely collapsed, and the surrounding area was charred from an explosion. It was very likely that Pietro and his family had already evacuated. If they were still inside, there was no chance of survival.

He was silent. He placed his hand on a stone among the rubble, closed his eyes, and focused his extraordinary spider-sense.

Under the rubble, in the dark cracks of the broken house, a girl lay trapped. She couldn't see or hear anything from the outside, only her own faint breath and heartbeat. The air was thin.

She was waiting for death. The only thing she was grateful for was that her twin brother had not been at home when the house was blown up.

Her consciousness began to blur.

Click.

Did she hear something? She barely opened her eyes and vaguely heard the sound of rubble being moved.

"I'm here…" she tried to yell, but her voice was so weak it was almost inaudible.

But the sound grew louder, as if the person outside knew she was there. And then, a ray of bright light shone in. She opened her eyes wide and saw the gentle face of a young man.

Leo had forcibly opened a path through the rubble and found her buried deep in the cracks. She was a red-haired girl, a loli, really, around thirteen years old, wearing a winter dress and covered in dust.

He carefully picked her up and asked, "What's your name?"

"Wanda…" she said weakly.

"You're Pietro's sister," he said.

"Sister?" she asked, like a wounded rabbit in his arms. She nodded timidly. "Who are you?"

"Leo Prince. I met Pietro last night. Did he mention me?"

"Yes…" she said, staring at him. She didn't expect that the person her brother had mentioned would save her life today.

"Pietro is not at home, right?"

"No," she said, shaking her head. She suddenly realized something and looked around. "My parents, they…"

"I'm sorry," he said, not wanting to hide the truth from her. "I found them first. They… they didn't make it."

Her body trembled violently. She had suspected it, but now, the confirmation was too much. Her will to hold on finally broke, and she closed her eyes and passed out.

He held her a little tighter. He knew that a girl her age, who had just lost her parents, would be overwhelmed with grief. Today, countless families in New York were being broken.

He sighed and was about to leave with her, to take her to a safer place outside the city, when an accident happened.

Six alien robots descended from the sky, landing in a circle around the ruins, enclosing him. And in the sky, several small alien flight vehicles hovered, their red eyes fixed on him.

"Did you come for me?" he said, his eyes cold. He had just killed several alien robots on the periphery of the battle, and now, they had sent more forces to encircle him.

Enemies in the sky and on the ground. With only the Super Spider Ability, it would be a tough fight. And with an unconscious girl in his arms, it was not an easy situation.

"I can only break out," he thought, but then, he noticed something strange.

The alien robots and the flight vehicles were all motionless, as if they had crashed. No, their bodies were being dominated by a mysterious and strange power.

CRACK!

The head of the first alien robot twisted a full three hundred and sixty degrees, an electric current flowing from its neck. Then, the heads of the other robots also twisted. They were committing suicide. In the air, the parts of the small alien flight machines began to tear apart.

In a dead silence, the alien mechanical forces that had been a threat to him self-destructed, turning into a pile of scrap copper and rotten iron.

His Spider-Sense was giving him a strong warning. He quickly turned around and saw another green-haired girl with smoky makeup, stepping on the metal parts that now littered the ground.

"Hi, brother," Lorna said, waving to him with the same madness as when they had first met, her pale, slender hands surrounded by a green fluorescence.
