Elizabeth finally returned in the late afternoon, pushing a heavy wooden cart loaded with supplies.
She looked completely drained, shoulders slumped and face damp with sweat.
Setting down the axe, I rushed over and helped her.
"Here, let me help," I grabbed the cart to steady it.
She managed a worn-out smile, and a bit of warmth lingered beneath it.
"Thank you," she said, brushing hair from her face.
Before I could respond, she leaned in and gave me a quick hug.
This girl was madly in love with Remus. Sure, she made a lot of questionable choices in the past, but she was still partly why this body came back stronger than ever.
Now that I got a better look at her, she was even prettier than I remembered.The sweat on her neck glistened in the fading light, and somehow it made her even more tempting. Her scent stayed pleasant too, even with the sweat mixed in.
