The studio went quiet for exactly one second.
Haejin looked at her.
He did not look caught. He did not look uncomfortable. He looked like someone running a quick, private calculation on which version of the truth was right for this room.
"Grounding," he said. "You remember what things actually are."
Yuki held that for a moment.
"That's a good answer," she said.
"It's a true one," he said.
She nodded slowly, like she believed him.
Because she did.
Out in the observation area, Daehyun looked at the screen.
Then he looked at Soorin.
Soorin was looking at the screen.
Her expression was doing the thing it did when something landed somewhere real and she had decided to deal with it later.
Daehyun looked back at the screen.
Neither of them said anything.
Which was, in its own way, the whole conversation.
