Haejin's kissing her again.
Hands roaming her bare back. Pulling her against him so she can feel every line of his body against hers.
His arousal is obvious. Pressing against her stomach through his sweatpants.
The knowledge that he wants her this much makes her head spin.
But then—suddenly—he freezes.
His hands still on her back. His lips hovering just above hers.
His breathing is ragged. His eyes squeezed shut like he's fighting some internal battle.
When he opens them, there's self-loathing there. Raw and painful.
"I'm sorry," he says.
His voice cracks.
"I shouldn't have—I came on too strong. I'm sorry."
He starts to pull away but she catches his wrists.
"Haejin, what—?"
"Las Vegas," he says.
The words sound like they're being dragged out of him.
"After Las Vegas, you left that note. You weren't talking to me. I thought—I thought you believed I only wanted your body. That it was just physical. I can't—"
He takes a shaky breath.
