"What did she say?" Doyun demanded. "What did she mouth to you?"
Haejin sat on a bench. Head in his hands. "Ask your mother."
"What?"
"That's what she said. 'Ask your mother.'"
Everyone went quiet.
"Ask your mother what?" Minjae said carefully.
"I don't know. About Sejin? About the revenge? About why she targeted me?" Haejin looked up. "I don't fucking know."
"Maybe she's just messing with you," Taekyung said. "Trying to get in your head."
"It's working."
Jisoo sat beside him. "We should call her. Your mom. Ask her—"
"Ask her what? 'Hey mom, do you know why a murderer is targeting me? Is it connected to a dead idol named Jung Sejin?'" Haejin laughed bitterly. "She'll think I'm insane."
"But what if she knows something?" Jisoo pressed.
"Then why wouldn't she have told me already?"
Nobody had an answer to that.
Manager Park approached. "We need to get back inside. They're resuming."
