Seoul Central District Court. Day two.
The courtroom was just as packed as yesterday. Maybe more. Word had spread about the drama. About Jiwon's smile. About the mysterious Jung Sejin.
Soorin sat in the same seat. Between Daehyun and Minjae. Haejin was in the front row again. He'd barely slept. She could tell from the dark circles under his eyes.
"How's he doing?" Daehyun whispered.
"Not good. He called his mom last night."
"And?"
"She basically told him to stop asking questions. That the truth would destroy him."
Daehyun winced. "That's ominous."
"That's putting it lightly."
The judge entered. Everyone stood. Court was in session.
The prosecutor stood. "Your Honor, today we'll focus on the kidnapping. The prosecution calls Park Somin."
One of the rescued hostages stood. Mid-thirties. Sharp eyes. She walked to the stand with her head high. Not shaking like Hyejin had been yesterday.
After being sworn in, she sat.
"Ms. Park, can you tell us about your experience?"
