Ethan's phone rang. Detective Kim.
He answered. "Yes?"
"We have a problem. Jiwon claims she has backup copies of the evidence. Multiple locations. Dead man's switches."
"Is she bluffing?"
"I don't think so. She's too confident. Too prepared."
Ethan rubbed his face. "What else?"
"She confessed to everything. The murders, the kidnappings, all of it. No remorse. No hesitation." Detective Kim paused. "Sir, I've been doing this for fifteen years. I've interviewed serial killers. Sociopaths. She's different."
"Different how?"
"She's not killing for pleasure. She's killing for purpose. This whole thing is about exposing something. About Jung Sejin and AUREYA."
"What did she say about Sejin?"
"Nothing specific. Just that she has proof of something. A scandal. A coverup. Said when it comes out, it'll destroy the company."
Ethan closed his eyes. "Thank you, Detective."
He hung up. Immediately called his IT security team.
