Hallway outside Haejin's room.
Manager Park closed the door quietly. Let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
Soorin was waiting. "How is he?"
"Confused. Hurt. Still looking for answers."
"Did you tell him anything?"
"I told him I don't have answers. Which is technically true. I wasn't there fourteen years ago. Everything I know is secondhand from Mr. Hayes."
"So you lied by omission."
"I spoke around the truth without lying directly." Manager Park's voice was low. "He doesn't remember what his father looked like. There are no photos of the idol Jung Sejin publicly available. Without proof, it's all speculation."
"You're playing word games with him."
"I'm doing what Mr. Hayes ordered without directly lying to someone I care about." Manager Park looked exhausted. "It's the best I can do."
Soorin looked at Haejin's closed door. "This is going to destroy him when the truth comes out."
"If it comes out."
"When. You can't keep dancing around this forever."
"I can try."
