"Because if we hit one first, Jiwon gets warned. She has eyes everywhere. We can't risk it."
Hayes stood at the head of the table. Arms crossed.
"What's the timeline?"
"Thirty minutes to get teams in position. Then we move on my signal."
"What about the hostages?"
"Thermal imaging shows six heat signatures at the Gangnam location. Nothing confirmed at the other two yet."
"So Gangnam is our best bet."
"Yes. But we can't ignore the others. She could have split them up."
Hayes nodded. "Assign your teams."
Detective Kim pointed at the map.
"Team A—Incheon. Led by Captain Choi. Team B—Gangnam. Led by Captain Park . Team C—Gwangju. I'll lead that one personally."
"What about backup?"
"Each team has tactical support. Paramedics on standby. We're ready."
The door burst open.
Haejin stormed in.
Everyone turned.
"I'm coming," he said. No room for argument.
Hayes' expression hardened. "Absolutely not."
"This is about me. My life. My career. I'm going."
