Nari seemed to realize her mistake. But it was too late.
"You knew Sejin," Ethan said quietly. "Didn't you?"
Silence.
"Didn't you?"
"Everyone knew Sejin."
"Not everyone. Just people who worked with him. Closely."
Nari said nothing.
Ethan pulled out another file. Slapped it on the table.
"Lee Nari. Age twenty–nine. Former assistant to AUREYA's talent manager. Worked here from 200X to 20XX. Quit after Lim Joon was fired for misconduct."
Nari's face remained blank. But her eyes betrayed her.
"It wasn't me. I swear, I'm innocent."
Ethan raised a brow at her whispered statement.
'There, finally! Just a little more...'
Soorin watched Nari's facade crack. Just slightly. But enough.
Ethan wasn't backing down. "Innocent. That's what you said. But innocent people don't usually need to declare it unprompted."
