Back in the arena, Kurogami was holding back, appearing cornered. The attack was a farce, as it did not give him a chance to rest at all.
The new attackers believe he's weakening, their combined assaults pushing him into retreat. Kurogami didn't use a drop of Chaos Essence, his movements were sluggish, he dodged some attack and deliberately allowed Verrak's companio,n who was specialized in fist attacks, to hit him. Kurogami was sent flying, crashing into a big wall with a loud bam. The wall had several cracks. Kurogami wasn't even given a sign to breathe before several missiles launched towards him and hit him.
Boom, Boom, several missiles crashed where Kurogami was, destroying everything it had contact with.
Spectators begin switching their bets, believing he's finished. The betting hall erupts as nearly half the crowd transfers their wagers against him. Those who keep faith in him start losing portions of their investments as the odds shift heavily in favor of the Ripper combatants, tho there were still several people who held the grounds, feeling.
Kurogami would come on top.
The lens activated once more, and a holographic face appeared.
"Hey, you are doing well, but I need to see blood. A fatal attack to put the reaper gang overseer at ease," Daichi said with a smile.e
Kurogami clicks his tongue, smirking faintly. The early missile attack hit him, but it's
Obsidian's body stuff. Skin was able to. Protected him.
"Blood? Fine… you'll have it."
Is this the end for white monkey, or is there still more to see?" the announcer said out loud, veins coming out of his forehead.
The smoke around Kurogami stretched out from the right side.
Verra, who was smiling from far behind time, suddenly stopped, "What's he survived th?t," he thought as his cybernetic eye implant for calculations and advanced sight picked up a sign of movement within the smoke.
"From the right," Verrak barked. His companion moved toward that direction, even sending long distance attack towards the smoke. Soonn Kurogami burst out of the smoke with a serious expression.
They attacked resume again, but this time Kurogami didn't dodge the attack this time instead took it. Verrak and his companion, seeing this, their attack became more. Stronger.
They felt that the white monk's struggle was coming to an end, the crowd's frenzy. Yet among the Reaper elites, the overseer narrows his eye; he doesn't buy the act, but soon his mind changed seeing the next several attacks.
Kurogami's back was slashed, blood poured out, he turned with a right fist trying to punch the player, but as he turned, Verrak's companion attacked with a long lancet weapon, he was pierced true is true is right shoulder. From behind, dragging him around till he slammed a wall, the other rushed to deliver a final blow, but an invincible attack sent them flying backward, even the lancer who stabbed him. Missiles came, but all exploded without reaching Kurogami.
"Shit, as he recovered a large amount of khaos energy," Verrak stopped his attack, thinking, Khaos core replenishes itself depending on talent, Kurogami's recovery was deeply considered by Verrak, but even still, looking at Kurogami's current state, Verrak still felt he had a high chance of winning.ng
"he wants to use that attack again," Verrak was sure to make sure he had enough Distance from Kurogami.
"Let's get his head," Verrak screamed, his companions charged with excitement, the 16 million dramon on Kurogami was no little sum, they all wanted it.
As they charged towards Kurog, the lens activated, and Kurogami showed blue light. Daichi's face appeared once more," hope you aren't regretting now," he said, he felt uneasy seeing how Kurogami stated his right now,
"I'm already getting bored with this," Kurogami said, his expression plain, emotionless.
Daichi could only stare in silence. Even beaten and bloodied, Kurogami still carried the look of a man who had already won.
Daichi laughed internally, "Alright, you can dispose of them now." Kurogami, hearing that, let out an evil smile, "It's about time," he said.
As the fighting rages on, the counter on the leaderboard drops: from 33 to 23 remaining. That's when the announcer's voice booms across the stadium:
"Attention warriors! The Green Zone will soon open!
The tension spikes. Sword and Fist sprint toward the zone's direction. They were so close to the projected coordinates. Kaia and Shin shadow them silently from above.
"Jujutsu Technique: Compression."
The wounds across Kurogami's body began to close, the blade marks and holes in his right shoulder shrinking as the skin tightened together. It looked like healing, but in truth, it was only a technique to stop the bleeding.
One of Verrak's companions launched a heavy punch toward Kurogami.
Kurogami didn't dodge. His body was slightly bent forward, one hand almost touching the ground. A drop of blood slid from his chin, striking the floor just as the blow landed.
In that instant, Kurogami's right arm lashed out like a serpent, coiling around his opponent's cybernetic arm. The player tried to pull away, but Kurogami's grip tightened. With his left hand, he struck a sharp palm blow.
Crack!
The sound echoed. The player's metallic arm snapped in two. There was no pain, but the arm was useless. As the player stumbled back to retreat, Kurogami's foot slammed into his right leg. Another sharp crack. The leg shattered.
From a distance, Verrak launched a flurry of micro-missiles. The air exploded in fire and thunder. But before the impact, Kurogami grabbed the crippled player with one hand on his neck, facing the missile, and lifted his hip.
The missiles connected.
The explosion tore through the arena, shaking the earth. Smoke and debris filled the field, but through it, Kurogami emerged unscathed, the cripples player already dead from the missile impact that connected to his face.
The audience roared.
The bettors who had put money on Kurogami screamed in triumph; their screens hadn't lit up with rising payouts, but they could feel it would soon happen. Verrak's balance spiked u; the system had counted the last attack as his own due to the chain reaction, awarding him the kill's value.
The remaining companions lunged at Kurogami in fury, faces twisted with rage.
Kurogami exhaled softly, lowering his stance with both hands hovering near his waist. The veins on his arms bulged, pulsing with energy, a clear sign that his strength was rising.
"Jujutsu Technique, Eighth Couple art of the Fist God: Explosive Fist Barrage!"
The words came out calm, almost whispered. Then came the storm.
The air around Kurogami's fists warped as energy gathered, his muscles tightening like coiled steel before unleashing devastation.
His fists blurred, breaking the sound barrier. One opponent dove from above with his final weapon, but the weapon shattered instantly under Kurogami's barrage. When the fists stopped, the man's body was riddled with holes, and he fell to the ground, blood and synthetic fluid spilling together. He fell lifeless.
The last two players froze, their confidence crumbling. One wielded a blade, the other a cannon arm. Neither dared move. Kurogami tilted his head slightly, as if asking, Are you coming, or should I?
They chose to retreat.
A good choice.
Kurogami snatched a jagged metal shard from the corpse beside him and dashed forward. His movements were ghostlike; in one heartbeat, he was gone, the next, he was behind them. The shard plunged into the throat of the first, slicing downward. Kurogami twisted his neck with a brutal snap before spinning toward the second.
A cannon blast was fir but ed.
Kurogami vanished again. Reappearing beside him, his hand became a blade. One clean strike.
Boom.
The shockwave of the palm cut rippled through the field, carving a line in the ground. The player's body fell forward, lifeless.
The crowd went silent for a moment before erupting. The announcer's voice shook with excitement, calling out every detail of Kurogami's slaughter.
Verrak stood in disbelief. Even from afar, he could feel the pressure Kurogami emitted. His big crab-like hands trembled slightly.
"How… how is he this strong?" he muttered.
More players fell.
The counter on the screen dropped rapidly.
20 players left.
The safe zone was about to open.
The Green Zone opened right ahead. Fist and Sword were barely twenty steps away when a shadow dropped from above, Shin and Kai, blades flashing.
Fist rolled aside, narrowly dodging, but Sword met Kaia's strike head-on. Sparks erupted as metal clashed, both of them pressing forward toward the glowing rectangular zone.
They both split apart, clashing repeatedly as they fought and moved closer to the Green Zone. They weren't the only ones; Kaia and Shin weren't the only players tracking down the Reaper Gang. Other players had started converging from every direction, all heading straight for the Green Zone.
The players launched an assault when they saw the Green Zone appear. Everyone could clearly see where it was now, and didn't need the reaper gang; what mattered was them getting in, and chaos broke loose. The entire field turned into a mad rush.
Among the remaining twenty players, there were only five Green Zones. One player with a cybernetic enhancement focused entirely on speed dashed forward like lightning, his legs built with weird, blade-like extensions that blurred into phantom steps. " he smiled, excitedly victorious was his,"
Kaia wasn't going to let that slide. Before he could even reach the zone, Kaia threw one of her blades at lightning speed. It pierced his neck cleanly, killing him instantly. Kai's drakon count rose sharply.
She gripped her last blade tightly, facing off against Sword, who was going all out. Their duel was fierce and fast, both pushing themselves to the limit as they fought their way into the Green Zone. Eventually, Kaia stood within the zone's glowing boundary, while Sword stood right outside it another green zone which was beside Kaia's zone. He gritted his teeth, angry that zone was meant for his companion fist, the done let out a shield barrier protecting the player inside it before teleporting them out of the stage.
The Green Zone itself was a large, rectangular field of shimmering energy. It gradually disappeared. Only one person could claim it. Out of the five zones, Kai and Shin had already occupied one each, which means only three were left.
