Valentina was getting ready to sleep, when the first missile struck, and Natalia woke up with a start beside her.
"What was that?!" Natalia screamed.
Valentina's forehead creased in concentration as she tried to remember where she had heard a sound like that before.
It came to her slowly, but disappeared before she could fully grasp it.
However, the second hit jolted her memory.
"We need to get out of here, Val!" Natalia rolled out of bed.
"No, Natty. Right here is exactly where we need to be. That is a missile attack, and by the sound, it's hitting their dome."
"Shit, Val! What the fuck are you talking about? You know I never joined big Ben's class to know about this kind of stuff. It was just you!"
"I know, and that's why you need to calm down. The dome is practically a protection for the sky. If there's a missile attack, it's not supposed to sound that way. Which tells me that this particular missile is very—"
