When Jack started to open his mouth about the D Family,
Luffy was already sleep and he was sleeping while sitting, such an amazing feat.
Surprisingly, no one noticed except Jack.
Jack glanced at him once, sighed, and said nothing.
Then he turned back to Vivi. "Alright. The D family isn't an ordinary bloodline. They are the natural enemies of the Celestial Dragons."
Hearing this sent chills down everyone's spine, not just Vivi and the crew, but even Dragon's hair seemed to stand on end.
"For example, Gol D. Roger," Jack continued. "His real name isn't Gold Roger. It's Gol D. Roger."
"But Jack," asked Nojiko, frowning, "why do the reports all call him Gold Roger?"
Jack shrugged. "Because the World Government bribed Morgans to remove the 'D' from his name, especially after he returned from Raftel."
"Why would they do that?" Vivi asked.
"Because they're afraid," replied Jack. "The Government doesn't want others with the 'D' name to unite and rise against them."
He then turned toward Dragon. "Do you remember someone named Rocks D. Xebec?"
Dragon face changed. He remembered the Hunting Event… and how he'd been saved by the Rocks Pirates. He could only nod silently.
"His real name," said Jack, "was Davy D. Xebec from the Davy Clan."
"You mean he's connected to Davy Jones? And that Davy also carried the initial 'D'?" asked Dragon.
Jack nodded. "Yes. I don't know exactly how all of you inherited the name, but my suspicion is that your ancestors once made a promise to oppose the World Government 800 years ago. The 'D' became a symbol of that oath."
Vivi face paled. "You said… something about my bloodline?"
Jack leaned against the railing, his tone thoughtful. "Yes. The name Nefertari D. Lily. Do you know it?"
Vivi frowned slightly. "Lily? That's one of our ancient ancestors, the first queen of Alabasta. Her name is recorded in the royal archives, but… I've never seen a middle initial 'D.'"
"That's because the royal records were edited," Jack explained. "The truth is hidden unless you become queen. That's why the Alabasta line stopped using the 'D' in their names."
Nami's eyes widened. "Wait, so Vivi's actually one of the D's?"
Jack nodded. "That's right. Her ancestor, Nefertari D. Lily, was one of the twenty monarchs who helped establish the World Government. But unlike the others, she refused to move to Mariejois. She stayed in Alabasta and left behind a secret letter. If Vivi ever asks her father about it, he'll understand what I mean."
Vivi's brows furrowed. "A letter… How do you even know about that?"
Jack's voice lowered. "I don't know the content of the letter. But the reason I know of its existence… is because I'm not from this planet. I'm an alien. That's why my power is different from yours."
Nojiko nodded. "He's telling the truth, Vivi. He told us earlier and we've seen it ourselves. Every time Luffy invites someone into the crew, Jack regains one of his powers."
Everyone fell silent for a moment.
Even Dragon, who had been quietly observing, gave a small nod.
"What else do you know about our world?" Dragon finally asked, curious.
Everyone perked up except Luffy, who was still sleeping on the deck without a single crew noticed it.
"I know many things," said Jack, "but not everything. For example, I know you were there during the Hunting Event organized by the Celestial Dragons… and that you saved a slave and a baby with red hair."
This time, Dragon sank to his knees, muttering under his breath. "You're… right."
Jack nodded. "But I don't know everything. For example, what really happened 800 years ago, that's something I need to learn while I'm here."
"So the D family are the ones who always oppose the Government?" asked Zoro.
"Yes, Zoro," Jack replied. "And do you know why I chose Luffy as my captain? It's because…" His tone softened. "The D name always appears when the world begins to change because they are the one who try to change it."
Zoro smirked. "Looks like I didn't choose the wrong captain."
Jack gave a small smile. "Exactly, Zoro. To become the greatest swordsman, you needed to become a pirate. Because your true opponents will be both pirates and marines and that will push you to your absolute limit."
Vivi sat silently for a long moment, trying to absorb everything.
"All this time… our family was hiding something like that…"
Luffy suddenly snored loudly in the background, earning a look from Nami and the others.
Jack sighed. "He was sleeping this whole time?"
Nami shook her head helplessly. "How does he even fall asleep during this?"
"Yes," said Nojiko. "He's been out cold since you started talking."
Sanji smirked. "That's our captain for you. Too simple for heavy talks, he can sleep anywhere."
Zoro chuckled. "Maybe that's why people like him end up changing the world."
"Luffy-senpai is too amazing!" shouted Bartolomeo, eyes sparkling.
Jack chuckled, then turned back to Vivi. "Anyway, speaking of change. Vivi, you'll need a battle suit, and something to disguise your face."
Vivi blinked in surprise. "For me?"
"Yeah. You're officially part of the crew now. You deserve your own armor."
Jack suddenly activated his Black Panther suit, the black surface rippling with light.
"This suit can disguise your appearance so the Marines won't suspect you're part of the crew."
"Disguise mode?" Vivi asked curiously.
"With this," Jack said, "no one will recognize you as Princess Vivi of Alabasta. You'll be free to travel as a pirate without exposing your true identity."
Vivi's eyes widened in awe. "Jack… this is incredible."
Jack smirked. "This one's mine, but I'll make yours later. I've also finished integrating the J.A.R.V.I.S. code to assist the ship's systems. Next, I'll start working on Ultron."
Nami blinked. "Ultron? What's that?"
"An advanced AI system," Jack said simply. Then he shouted, "Oh, I almost forgot—LUFFYYYYY!"
Luffy jolted awake. "Huh?! What's wrong, Jack?!"
"Look at this," said Jack with a smirk. "Jarvis, can you hear me?"
Suddenly, the Going Merry spoke and a holographic robot figure appeared on the deck.
Luffy, Usopp, and Bartolomeo's eyes shone with stars.
"This... this is a real robot?!" shouted Luffy in awe.
"Jack-senpai, this is way too cool!" Bartolomeo cheered.
"Yes," replied Jack proudly. "This is Jarvis. From now on, this ship can sail automatically especially at night."
"Awesome… Jack, thank you!" said Luffy, suddenly grabbing him and planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Erghhh..... go away, Luffy!" Jack grumbled, trying to push him off.
