When King heard that Emiya was willing to help her younger brother, her expression lit up.
Mai Shiranui waved her hand.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go."
The group immediately left the bar and headed to the hospital where King's brother had been staying.
He had been there ever since the car accident.
When they entered the ward, they saw King's younger brother lying on the bed.
He was a small boy with blond hair and blue eyes.
King looked at Emiya, her eyes asking the question she didn't say out loud.
Emiya glanced at the boy and nodded.
No problem.
It was just a broken leg.
He raised his hand and activated a healing spell.
The spell came from Aqua.
Its effect could be summed up in three words.
Really damn good.
However, one spell wasn't enough to let the boy jump out of bed immediately.
So Emiya didn't hesitate.
He poured in more magic and cast healing spell after healing spell.

King froze for a moment.
Then she dropped to her knees beside the bed and tightly grabbed her brother's hand.

"Then why did you call it a superpower?"
Emiya glanced at her.
"If you didn't know my background, would you believe this world has superpowers?"
"Of course," Mai answered without hesitation.
"And magic?"
Mai paused.
She believed in superpowers because she had seen them.
Magic, on the other hand...
She wasn't so sure.
Emiya said calmly, "Now do you understand?"
Mai nodded slowly.
A moment later, King came out of the ward with her brother.
She bowed deeply to Emiya.
"Thank you."
Emiya waved it off.
"Don't mention it. You're Mai Shiranui's friend, so you're my friend. Helping with something small like this is nothing."
King didn't think it was a small favor at all.
She said nothing, only silently resolved to repay him someday.
Mai Shiranui laughed and wrapped an arm around King.
"Now that your brother's fine, King, want to enter the KOF tournament with me?"
King smiled.
"Of course. Looks like the Women Fighters Team is making a comeback."
Emiya chose that moment to pour cold water on their excitement.
"You're celebrating too early."
Both women looked at him.
"If I'm not mistaken, Takuma Sakazaki will withdraw from the Art of Fighting Team this time. Yuri Sakazaki will replace him."
"What?" Mai was shocked.
"That's really happening?"
Emiya nodded.
"If you don't believe me, ask Yuri Sakazaki yourself."
Mai frowned.
"Then what do we do now?"
King was surprised.
Why was Mai believing him so easily, without even confirming it first?
What exactly was their relationship?
Was the issue between Mai and Andy related to this man?
King's thoughts started racing.
She decided she'd talk to him later if she got the chance.
After finishing the discharge procedures, the group headed back to Illusion Bar.
On the way, Emiya took the opportunity to ask King-who knew South Town better than anyone-about Geese.
King was curious why he was asking, but she didn't hide anything.
She told him everything she knew.

King understood immediately.
"You're trying to provoke him."
"He has something I want," Emiya said.
"Just that?"
"Just that."
"But that's Geese," King said, trying to dissuade him.
She knew how dangerous Geese was.
Ryo Sakazaki had defeated Geese before, but it hadn't shaken his rule over South Town at all.
Geese was still the boss.
Emiya didn't take him seriously.
He turned to CĂș Chulainn.
"This shouldn't be a problem for you, right?"
CĂș Chulainn grinned.
"Leave it to me, Master."
Even if it meant taking on the ruler of South Town alone, he wasn't afraid.
He had won countless battles while outnumbered.
This was no different.
King thought the whole plan was absurd.
She tried one last time to convince Emiya to give up.
It didn't work.
In the end, she sighed and pulled Mai Shiranui aside.
"What's the deal with your friend? He wants to challenge Geese head-on."
Even Ryo Sakazaki wouldn't do something that crazy.
Ryo beat Geese in a duel.
He never challenged Geese's entire organization alone.
Mai Shiranui smiled calmly.
"Don't worry, King. Nothing will happen."
After all-
