Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Amazonian Twins

Freya was an extremely possessive goddess.

If Bell had joined her Familia from the very beginning, his chances of escaping would have been less than one in ten thousand.

He might even end up becoming a toy for Freya to amuse herself with in the future.

He might not even be able to form a harem.

Thinking about that, Emiya felt a trace of pity for Bell.

Of course, that feeling lasted only a second before Emiya casually tossed it aside.

After all, it was Loki who was meddling with Bell's future, not him.

"Hey, Riveria!"

When the Amazonian twin sisters spotted Riveria, the younger one, Tiona, immediately waved her arms enthusiastically, a bright smile on her face.

Just like in the anime, Tiona had healthy, sun-kissed skin. There wasn't a hint of gloom about her. Her cheerful personality was written plainly on her face.

She wore an Amazonian dancer's outfit that showed off her figure. Her upper body was barely covered by a thin piece of cloth, while a long skirt was wrapped around her waist. Her navel and supple curves were fully exposed.

As she approached, Tiona didn't even wait for Riveria to speak before firing off words like a machine gun.

"So this is the legendary newbie? To have Riveria personally accompany you, the news has already spread through the entire Familia. But you look kinda old. Is it really okay for someone like you to become an adventurer? Ouch!"

"Shut up, Tiona."

Seeing her sister offend someone the moment she opened her mouth, the older sister, Tione, didn't hesitate at all and punched her.

Aside from her long black hair that fell to her waist, her temperament, and part of her figure, she looked almost exactly like Tiona.

"What was that for? That hurt!" Tiona protested loudly.

Tione ignored her completely.

She turned to Emiya and said awkwardly, "I'm really sorry. My sister speaks without thinking. She doesn't mean any harm."

Emiya had read the story. He knew Tiona's personality, so he wasn't angry.

He had already graduated from college. He wasn't some hot-headed kid who would get upset just because someone questioned him.

He had that much composure.

More importantly, Tiona was cute.

And she was a first-rate adventurer.

If it were a different man saying those words, Emiya would have already taught him a lesson.

"It's fine," Emiya said calmly. "I'm not angry. And your sister isn't wrong."

Compared to younger people, someone Emiya's age lacked drive and flexibility.

Generally speaking, people his age rarely chose to become adventurers.

Riveria spoke up. "Don't worry. Emiya's strength is quite good."

Although she didn't know what abilities Emiya possessed beyond world travel, she could sense danger from him.

He definitely wasn't weak.

Tiona tilted her head, curiosity written all over her face.

"Huh? Isn't the newbie just a level one adventurer who joined today?"

"I am level one," Emiya admitted. "But I have a superpower."

"A superpower?" Tiona blinked. "What's that?"

"Uh... think of it as a skill."

"A skill? What kind of skill?" Tiona leaned in closer, clearly intrigued.

Tione immediately punched her sister on the head again.

"You're being rude! Who asks about someone's skills the moment they meet them?"

Tiona clutched her head, tears forming in her eyes. It was obvious her sister hadn't held back.

Even so, Tiona refused to give up.

"We're all in the same Familia. If we don't even know the newbie's skill, how are we supposed to work together in a fight?"

Tione paused.

At first, it sounded reasonable.

Then she realized it was complete nonsense.

Level five adventurers usually operated below the thirtieth floor.

Newbies stayed on the first to fourth floors.

There was no chance they'd ever fight together.

Emiya didn't mind at all. He smiled faintly.

"I don't mind telling you. My skill is psychic power."

"Psychic power?" Tiona frowned. She had never heard of such a skill.

Emiya continued calmly.

"Psychic power is an invisible force. You can't see it with your naked eye, but it definitely exists. If you don't mind, I can demonstrate."

Tiona nodded enthusiastically.

Emiya formed two psychic hands.

In front of everyone's astonished gazes, he gently grabbed Tione's long, beautiful black hair and deftly braided it into a fishtail braid.

To everyone else, it looked as though Tione's hair had braided itself.

"I... I really can't see anything," Tiona muttered, rubbing her eyes in disbelief. "This skill is way too cheap."

You could see everyone else's attacks.

But you couldn't see his.

How were you supposed to fight that?

It was like having a knife held to your throat without even realizing it.

Terrifying.

At long range, it might be manageable.

Up close, it was a guaranteed loss.

Riveria watched silently and nodded inwardly.

She finally understood why Emiya gave her such a strong sense of danger.

This invisible power was extremely troublesome.

Even high-level adventurers were still flesh and blood.

If they were careless and let him get close, he could easily kill them in a single strike.

Just as Tiona complained, this skill was indeed cheap.

But then Riveria remembered something.

The person who possessed this skill was a member of her Familia.

That realization put her at ease.

Tiona couldn't help exclaiming,

"To have a skill like that as a newbie... who are you, really? Are you a demi-human?"

In her understanding, only elves or other rare races could possess special powers without divine blessings.

"No," Emiya replied. "I'm a human. A normal one."

"Really?" Tiona's eyes widened.

She leaned in close, staring at Emiya as if she wanted to see straight through him.

Emiya smiled slightly and let her look.

After a few seconds, Tiona pulled back and grinned.

"So, newbie, when are you planning to go into the dungeon?"

Emiya thought briefly.

"If everything goes smoothly, probably tomorrow."

Riveria frowned.

She knew Emiya wasn't weak.

But she wasn't comfortable letting him enter the dungeon alone.

If something went wrong and Emiya died, their main god, Loki, would be stranded in another world forever.

Loki Familia would lose its god.

And without a god, a Familia would eventually collapse.

It seemed she would need to make preparations.
