In the world where the "Precursors" resided.
"Chirp, chirp, chirp!"
Insect-like sounds echoed as two multi-eyed, lizard-shaped beings communicated.
"Are you ready?"
"The third-form servant is prepared," came the response. "This time, we can directly strike the location identified a month ago. After analyzing their weakness-the so-called 'mechs'-the third-form servant has been equipped with long-range attack capabilities and infrared vision."
"As long as it scans that fatal point, it can kill in one strike."
"And then eliminate their most important person."
"Excellent. Begin."
"Chirp, chirp, chirp!"
A creature designated as a third-form servant detached itself from its breeding tube.
Its many eyes were filled with awe and loyalty as it gazed toward the Precursors.
Guided by their consciousness, its massive body floated upward, toward an area shrouded in a powerful magnetic field.
Gravity in this world was extremely weak.
That was why enormous objects could float freely.
It was also why Earth had been given time.
Any Kaiju that could survive here would be crushed instantly by Earth's terrifying gravity if not modified.
"I must complete the Precursors' order," the Kaiju thought.
Its intelligence was limited, but its loyalty was absolute.
Passing through a membrane-like barrier, it entered a long spatial tunnel.
A massive electromagnetic field wrapped around its body.
It didn't harm it.
Instead, it enraged it.
This humiliation had to be erased.
The enemy had to be destroyed.
For hive-minded creatures, the experience of one was the experience of all.
This was why Kaiju continued to evolve.
When one was killed by a mech, the entire species learned.
Even with the intelligence of beasts, they would avoid repeating fatal mistakes.
The Kaiju emerged from the spatial tunnel, swimming out from the gap between two continental plates.
The crushing water pressure meant nothing to it.
Its modified tail swayed gently.
That tail could spray a corrosive acid capable of melting a mech's outer shell.
"Roar-!"
It roared in excitement as it fully exited the wormhole, ready to charge toward its target.
And then-
Its many eyes froze.
More than a dozen mechs.
Each slightly larger than itself.
All staring at it.
Silently.
Menacingly.
Kaiju: "ヽ(O_o)
!!!∑(?Д?ノ)ノ
∑(っ°Д°;)っ
(((; ?;)))"
The mechs: "(¬_¬)
Ψ( ̄? ̄)Ψ"
"Brother Morin's timing is perfect!" Song Shu and Fang Xing exclaimed.
In the Precursor world, the Precursors subconsciously widened their eyes.
What was this?
Why were there so many mechs waiting the moment it came out?
Had their intelligence been exposed?
They didn't even have time to process it.
Back on Earth, the outcome was obvious.
Even a Category V Kaiju would struggle against so many mechs.
This one didn't even manage to cause meaningful damage before being completely annihilated.
As the mechs prepared to execute their original plan-dragging the Kaiju's dismembered corpse back through the magnetic barrier and into the Precursor world-
A deafening roar echoed.
A mech's roar.
From above.
Everyone froze.
Why was there a mech above them?
"Everyone," a voice sounded in all headsets.
"I told you. I'd see you soon."
"Brother Morin!" Song Shu and Fang Xing recognized it instantly.
In the command room, Pentecost frowned and looked at Zhao Wei.
Zhao Wei's expression was filled with shock and confusion.
He wasn't acting.
He genuinely didn't understand.
A hundred-meter-tall, two-thousand-ton mech had been transported without making a sound?
He'd thought Morin wasn't going to act.
But now-
He had moved that monster silently?
How?
Qin Guang, standing nearby, noticed Zhao Wei's expression and felt a strange sense of admiration.
So Brother Zhao was this good at acting?
As confusion spread, a mech slowly descended.
It hovered in midair.
"H... holy shit."
"Oh my god..."
The reactions were all the same.
Four luminous wings spread from its back.
A massive light blade in its hand.
A dark red glow pulsing through its frame.
It was absurdly cool.
Pilots who weren't deployed stared at the live feed, then turned toward the mech designers watching with them.
Their meaning was clear.
We want one too.
The designers didn't answer.
Their brains had already gone into overdrive.
They recognized Morin's voice.
They had reviewed this mech.
Every detail.
So how could it do this?
And where did that sword come from?
"I apologize," Morin's voice sounded again. "I deceived all of you."
His holographic projection forcibly appeared in every cockpit, bypassing command room controls.
"How did he do that?!" Pentecost shouted.
"Tendo Choi!"
"I'm here..." Tendo replied bitterly. "There's nothing I can do. He's overridden everything. Absolute technological superiority."
"I can't cut him off."
"I can't command him."
"That's impossible!" Pentecost snapped.
"With him," Zhao Wei muttered, suddenly laughing, "everything is possible."
He understood now.
That apology meant Morin had hidden more than they thought.
Zhao Wei wasn't angry.
He had expected this.
Now it was up to Morin to prove his choice was right.
"From the beginning," Morin said calmly, "I never intended for you to enter this wormhole."
Zhao Wei's heart almost stopped.
Had he trusted the wrong person?
"Because this is my mission," Morin continued. "I only need to go alone."
At that moment, every pilot felt their body forcibly transferred into escape pods.
They struggled.
It was useless.
The mechs that once obeyed them now acted with their own will.
Obeying their king.
"Regain control!" Pentecost roared.
"I can't!" Tendo shouted back. "All control is locked. The system belongs to him!"
"Then do something!"
"Unless you activate the highest authority-but I don't have it!"
They both turned to Zhao Wei.
Zhao Wei: "..."
After a brief pause, he collapsed.
Everyone: "!!!"
"Brother Zhao!" Qin Guang rushed forward. "Did you drink the tea Morin gave you earlier?"
Morin, listening remotely: "..."
"I added a mild sleeping agent," Morin said. "No harm. He just needs rest."
The excuse was terrible.
But it didn't matter.
"In any case," Morin said, "I will resolve everything."
His mental energy fully expanded.
More than a dozen mechs moved simultaneously.
Even without pilots, they fought with purpose.
For their king.
"Become the destroyers of their world."
Morin raised his greatsword, pointing it at the wormhole.
"Follow me into destruction!"
The Abyssal Blade grasped the Kaiju's head with one hand and flew forward.
Behind it, the other mechs followed, each carrying a piece of the corpse.
This Kaiju had originally belonged to the Precursor world.
When the Precursors invaded, they slaughtered most of its kind.
The rest were enslaved.
Modified.
Cloned.
Forced into endless servitude.
In the end, reduced to pieces-
It fulfilled its final purpose.
It guided the most terrifying enemies the Precursors had ever faced.
There was providence in this.
In the Precursor world-
"Chirp, chirp, chirp!"
They still hadn't reached a conclusion.
Then they heard it.
A familiar roar.
Growing closer.
Where had they heard it before?
Ah.
The human world.
Wait.
Why would the sound of human mechs-
This was their planet.
The wormhole opened.
A winged mech descended like a demon god, greatsword in hand.
Then another.
And another.
The Precursors' countless eyes widened.
Someone had invaded their home.
Unfortunately, they couldn't say what they were thinking.
The Abyssal Blade swung its sword.
Light wings flared.
Its chuunibyou spirit exploded.
"The time has come," Morin declared.
"The destroyer of worlds has arrived."
"I am the apocalypse."
