Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Assassins go on a rampage

Knights use stealth, Mages swing big hammers, and Warriors cast forbidden spells

"Calm down, analyze slowly, and deduce based on the existing information..." Morin thought as he walked.

"First, the Templar Knight bloodline is said to be similar in function to the assassin bloodline... let's try it."

With that thought, Morin activated the so-called "Knight Bloodline." As soon as he activated it, Morin felt something more in his mind, and at the same time, some parts of his body were slightly enhanced.

When Morin used these extra "memories" in his mind to control those body parts, he immediately felt the boost from the "Knight Bloodline."

"Vision, hearing, strength, speed." Morin experienced the bonus from the "Knight Bloodline" with no visible changes on the surface.

The symptoms that came with activating this bloodline, such as a faster heart rate and increased blood flow, were all under his control.

With Morin's control over his body, doing this was very simple.

"To put it simply, it's a way to stimulate the human body through hormone secretion to reach a state of physical and even beyond physical limits," Morin concluded.

"A special gene, an innate ability... the current boost is minimal for me, but what kind of changes will it bring when it gets to a higher level?"

"Then there's stealth and backstabbing, hmm..." Morin mentally reviewed the [Stealth Technique] and [Backstabbing Technique]:

"Are they just two techniques?"

Morin was a bit confused.

This wasn't right.

How do techniques level up?

More advanced techniques?

Morin frowned, thought for a moment, and decided to put it aside for now. No matter how much he guessed, he would find out when he leveled up.

For now, he needed to consider a more important matter. How to make money.

More specifically, how to make money that could be counted as experience points!

Making money was simple for Morin, but he didn't know how to do it with the Templar Knight profession.

"Templar Knight..." Morin looked at the profession panel, analyzed the description word by word, and vaguely had a guess and a rough plan.

"I'll try everything!" Morin first made a note of a nearby

street sign, then waved down a taxi. First, he needed to buy some essential living supplies.

"Sir, where would you like to go?" the taxi driver asked.

"The nearest commercial street," Morin said as he got into the back seat, opened the bag the system provided every time, and checked the contents.

"Ten thousand US dollars, ID... what is this?" Morin took out a book, looking confused.

"Revelation," Morin read the title, paused, opened the book, and started reading. He had a premonition that the answer he was looking for might be in this book.

[The Templar Knights and the Fraternity of Assassins

came from the same ancestor, the same organization, and were gradually split over time.]

[The two organizations have completely different, even opposing, missions and characteristics.]

[The Assassins are unruly and yearn for freedom. They believe in fate and the guidance it provides, upholding the philosophy of "killing one to save thousands."]

[The Templar Knights adhere to rules and maintain order.

They believe in themselves and that the destiny of humanity should be decided by humans themselves, not by a so-called Loom of Fate. They uphold the philosophy of protecting human order and civilization, which led to friction and conflict with the assassins.]

[Finally, after the first Templar Knight elder appeared on the Fraternity of Assassins's "Loom of Fate," the two organizations began a bloody and escalating life-and-death struggle that has lasted for thousands of years.]

...

Morin was a very fast reader. By the time the driver dropped him off at the commercial street, Morin had finished reading the entire book and finally understood what he was supposed to do with his Templar Knight profession.

"But, before that," Morin said, walking into a mobile phone store, "I need to get a phone first..."

He didn't want to, but even though he had two phones in his storage space, they couldn't be used in this world!

This wasn't just a matter of changing a SIM card!

After finishing all the paperwork, Morin bought a computer, then waved down another taxi, went back to the intersection where he started, and walked toward the alley he first appeared in.

Even though there was still almost a year until the official plot began, Morin needed to do some things in advance.

For example, finding Wesley's father, the top assassin codenamed "The Cross," Carlos.

Morin didn't know where Carlos was right now, but he knew where Wesley was.

He also knew that Carlos had been watching his son all along, but didn't dare to meet him because he didn't want to drag Wesley into the assassin world.

Of course, in the end, things didn't go as planned. Wesley eventually embarked on the path of an assassin.

The most terrifying part was that he was brought back to the Fraternity of Assassins by Fox, who was sent by the Fraternity that Carlos had betrayed, and trained to become a new-generation assassin.

Then, Wesley was misled by the Fraternity of Assassins into thinking that Carlos was his father's killer, and he killed Carlos.

Wesley only later understood the whole truth and then went on a rampage, taking down the entire Fraternity of

Assassins.

Assassins go on a rampage, knights use stealth, mages swing big hammers, and warriors cast forbidden spells...

It's an old tradition, and it's perfectly normal, nothing to be surprised about.

Of course, that was what happened in the original story.

Right now... Wesley was still that miserable office

worker, suffering from the torment of life.

After walking around the area for a bit, Morin found a place to stop, occasionally glancing at where Wesley lived, and then left to check into a hotel.

"I just need to do this a few more times..." Morin thought to himself, opening his laptop, plugging in the network cable, and typing "175 Fifth Avenue, Manhattan" into the map. Soon, he got the result.

"The New York Continental Hotel," Morin said, looking at the result on the screen. He was lost in thought.

"So the organization from John Wick exists. If that's the case, I can... huh?"

Just as Morin was planning his next move, there was a knock on his door.

"..." Morin stood up and went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, a dark gun barrel was pointed at Morin's head.

"Don't move!" the man said.

"Quietly step back with your hands up, or I can't guarantee a bullet won't go through your head in the next second!"
