Ava froze. Slowly, she turned to face Hazel.
Hazel's breath caught at what she saw.
Ava's mouth was smeared with blood, and her eyes were red... bloody red. She was struggling as her fangs forced their way out.
Hazel's gaze shifted to the lifeless body of a student on the floor, blood drained from her body, eyes white and hollow.
Hazel shrieked and spun around to run, but Ava sped forward with inhuman speed and reached for her. A hard kick suddenly sent Ava flying across the room.
Reese grabbed Hazel and pulled her out of the room before quickly bolting the door.
"Mrs. Frost and Mr Magnus will be here soon," she said softly, noticing Hazel's fearful expression.
Ava kept banging on the door like a maniac.
"Ava is..."
Hazel whispered but the words died on her tongue.
Ava was a vampire now?
So she had turned that night, that was why she suddenly came back alive...
"She isn't herself right now. You should've run instead of watching her," Reese muttered.
