Lilith's eyes narrowed slightly.
"So what are you insinuating?"
Vladimir turned his gaze toward the window, his expression darkening.
"Belphegor..." he whispered.
Lilith stiffened. "He can't be alive. He was sent back to Hell a long time ago."
"Even so." Vladimir muttered, "anything is possible. He might be hiding somewhere... waiting for the perfect time to show himself."
Lilith's lips curved as she approached him, reaching out to touch his arm, but Vladimir shot her a death glare that stopped her hand midair. She let out a soft chuckle and stepped back.
"Lord Cassius might need your attention," Lilith said. "I heard he caught the woman who supplies babies to that witch nearby. The one who does it just for money." Her voice lowered. "He's trying to make it look like she's been the cause of the killing and missing humans, even though she isn't."
