The bathroom door creaked open and he stepped out. His uniform was slightly disheveled, his shirt untucked from the waistband, his dark hair damp with sweat, but a newfound confidence straightened his posture.
He was about to head on to the hallway when a faint whiff of feminine perfume tickled his nostrils.
It didn't smell like Miss Haruka's.
Renji paused, then looked around. The corridor was pretty empty, and there was no place for someone to hide.
He shrugged. It probably belonged to one of the many other female teachers who used this bathroom.

With a dismissive grunt, he headed back to class.
The remainder of the school day dragged on, lecture after lecture, letters and diagrams scrawled on the board, chatting and laughing of the students, and the occasional rustle of turning pages.
