Joe moved his gaze between Wells and the man in yellow, concluding that Wells was not the murderer. This was also the conclusion Wells hoped for; with Reverse-Flash appearing, how could Joe's suspicions not be dispelled?
Wells pretended to look at Joe with confusion, then felt Joe's gaze behind him.
Just as Wells was about to turn his head to see what was behind him that had surprised Joe so much,
Joe saw the man in yellow raise a blurred left hand and strike towards Wells' head.
Wells, along with his wheelchair, was immediately knocked over under the table and fell unconscious with his eyes closed.
"NO…"
Joe saw the man in yellow's action and immediately drew his pistol, but didn't have time to point it at the blurry yellow figure.
The entire room was suddenly filled with red electrical arcs, and a fragile glass cup fell to the floor, shattering crisply.
Files flew everywhere.
Gusts of wind whipped across Joe's face, leaving him bewildered. He nervously and fearfully pointed his pistol in every direction, unable to aim at a target.
It was too fast; the entire room was red electrical arcs, with files flying everywhere, and there was no human figure to be seen.
Cold sweat trickled down Joe's forehead.
The pistol he was holding suddenly vanished, thrown to the floor.
A blurred face instantly appeared in front of him, close to his own face.
Joe's eyes narrowed, and the fear welling up from deep within him made his breathing suddenly heavier, but he controlled it, pressing it down tightly, causing his whole body to tremble slightly and his back to be drenched in cold sweat.
"Are you… looking for me?"
A magnetic voice emanated from the blurred face, sending shivers down his spine.
Then a small camera smashed onto the table, making it shake.
That was a camera Joe had secretly placed in a corner to record Wells' behavior and expressions during their conversation, to observe later. Now it had been found by the man in yellow and smashed onto the table.
"It's you, you killed Barry's mother, you're the man in yellow Barry talked about!"
Joe gasped, speaking tremblingly. He desperately tried to suppress his body's shaking, but it was no use; the more he tried to suppress it, the stiffer his body felt.
"If you keep investigating… she dies!"
The man in yellow once again transformed into red electrical arcs, filling the room, then the small camera on the table vanished, and the red electrical arcs rushed out the door, disappearing without a trace.
Joe, drenched in sweat, turned to look at the blackboard. On the world map, a fruit knife was stabbed into Iris's photo.
After a while, Joe calmed down and pulled the fruit knife from the blackboard. He looked at Iris's photo with deep affection and put it into his pocket.
He picked up his pistol and helped the unconscious Dr. Wells back into his wheelchair.
With a slight shake, Wells woke up, looking bewildered.
"What happened?"
"Dr. Wells, I apologize, I misunderstood."
… … … …
Star Labs.
Cisco called into the microphone: "Lin Li, Barry found the metahuman's whereabouts. You need to come to the control room lobby."
Lin Li, in the underground training room, heard and rushed up to the control room.
As he entered the door, he heard Barry's pained yelps.
Barry was bruised and swollen, with a black eye on his left, lying on the infirmary bed.
Caitlin was applying medicine to him, saying with great dissatisfaction: "How many more injuries do you need to get? If you can't beat them, run. You're so fast, no one can catch you."
"I didn't want to! I was surrounded in an instant, okay? Someone pulled my arm, someone grabbed my leg. I was surrounded by over a dozen people, getting punched and kicked. It was very difficult to break out."
Barry explained with a groan. There were really too many opponents, and more kept appearing as he fought, surrounding him in layers. He didn't even have room to move.
Can't this world have more good people? Do those with abilities always have to commit crimes?
Barry wailed: "This is another unfriendly metahuman…"
Cisco wiped the Lightning Suit, saying indignantly: "Hey, you've gotten my Lightning Suit covered in blood. Although it's red and not very noticeable, it's still disgusting."
Barry rolled his eyes: "I'm sorry, the situation was intense. I couldn't hold a towel to keep my suit clean while fighting. If some of that blood is from the enemies, I did punch them a few times."
"Barry, it looks like you need some combat training, so you can fight a thousand men."
Lin Li said.
"Cisco, collect some blood, test the DNA, and see if the Central City database can find a match."
Barry said: "I know what he looks like. During the fight, I pulled off a few masks. They were all identical people, identical metahumans, with the ability to split themselves."
Cisco nodded in approval: "Cool, Captain Clone…"
Everyone fell silent and looked at Cisco.
"What? Is that name not good? OK, I'll come up with another one."
The discussion then returned to the metahuman.
Caitlin asked: "Why didn't you notify Lin Li immediately? Together, you surely could have defeated this metahuman."
Barry said: "I thought I could handle him by myself."
The scene fell silent once more…
Barry continued helplessly: "Alright, I thought they were just ordinary armed criminals. I didn't expect him to suddenly split. I was startled when I caught up to him."
"Besides, if I had notified Lin Li, by the time he arrived, the metahuman would have already run off."
Lin Li helplessly recalled the last time with Weather Wizard, waiting at five red lights on the way. By the time he arrived, all he could do was pick Barry up for treatment; he couldn't do anything else.
The battle came too quickly and ended too quickly. He could only clean up the aftermath.
"It seems I need a mode of transport to get to the scene in time."
At this moment, Cisco had finished wiping the blood off the Lightning Suit and had collected a sample for testing.
Cisco nodded affirmingly, saying: "You're right, Lightning Knight."
"What…"
Everyone was once again silenced by Cisco's sudden naming, looking at him with confused expressions.
"Lin Li, your hero name, I've changed it to: Lightning Knight. I'm confident you won't object, won't regret it, and will wholeheartedly agree."
Cisco said confidently.
"Lin Li, you all come with me. I have something to show you."
Cisco led the way out of the control room lobby. Lin Li, showing great interest, followed. This pace clearly indicated that Cisco had invented something good again.
Barry quickly jumped off the infirmary bed and rushed to catch up with the two of them. This was clearly something very interesting. Cisco had invented something, and this was not to be missed.
"Hey, Barry, your injuries…"
"It's fine, Caitlin, my recovery ability is very strong. Look, I can already run and jump."
Ignoring Caitlin, Cisco led Lin Li and Barry to the garage.
A black curtain covered a motorcycle, revealing its outline.
