Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 The most touching family drama of the year

Du Mu was about to speak when he heard a muffled groan from Blade in the communicator.

Immediately after, a strange voice came from the communicator: "Hey, you must be the Vampire Killer, right? I heard you're with the Daywalker looking for me?"

Du Mu raised an eyebrow: "Dekeon Fisi?"

"That's right, it's me."

Fees readily admitted: "To be honest, I'm very interested in you. A mere human can kill so many Vampires. I can give you a chance, join us and become a great Vampire!"

Du Mu chuckled: "I'll have to think about that. How about this, I'll come find you now, and we can sit down and talk slowly."

"Hmph!"

Fees snorted, his voice instantly turning cold: "Since you don't cherish this opportunity, then just wait! The age of the Vampire is about to descend. After tonight, all humans will become our slaves!"

After delivering a standard villainous speech, Fees cut off the communication.

Du Mu glanced at the map; the green dot representing Blade was moving rapidly.

He immediately took the elevator to the floor where he was located.

Ding!!

The elevator stopped, and outside the door stood a group of Vampires holding firearms.

The moment the elevator doors opened, they immediately pulled the triggers, and countless bullets poured out, rattling against the elevator.

However, when the elevator doors fully opened, it was empty, and all the bullets missed.

"Ceasefire!"

The leading Vampire gave the command, signaling to the Vampires beside him with a gesture.

This Vampire nodded, holding an automatic rifle, and cautiously walked into the elevator to investigate.

He looked around, confirmed no one was there, then turned his head and shouted: "Captain, there's no..."

"Watch out behind you!"

The Vampires outside the elevator widened their eyes, pointing behind the Vampire.

The Vampire spun around, only to see Du Mu, like a ghost, flipping down from the elevator ceiling, grinning at him.

"Have you eaten? If not, I'll treat you to some garlic."

Before he finished speaking, Du Mu pulled the pin from a concentrated garlic essence grenade and stuffed it into the Vampire's mouth, then kicked him hard out of the elevator!

Yellow mist spewed from the Vampire's mouth, instantly creating a roasted Vampire, ready to eat with a sprinkle of cumin.

Speaking of which, Vampires are indeed an ingredient in the Classic of Mountains and Seas; eating them can prolong life.

"It's garlic essence, run!"

Seeing the spreading yellow mist, the Vampires reacted as if a septic tank had exploded, desperately trying to get away.

Seizing the opportunity, Du Mu quickly raised his golden desert eagle and fired.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets pierced through the yellow mist, accurately perforating the heads of these Vampires.

As the yellow mist gradually dispersed, only the lone Vampire Captain remained in the corridor.

The Vampire Captain, seeing Du Mu's ferocity, dropped his automatic rifle, clenched his fists, and took a fighting stance, challenging Du Mu.

"Dare you put down your golden desert eagle and have a man-to-man duel with me?"

"No."

Du Mu replied curtly.

Vampire Captain: "..."

Why was this script not what he had imagined?

Bang! Bang!

Du Mu pulled the trigger, shooting the Vampire Captain in both legs, then walked over and pressed the golden desert eagle to his forehead.

"Where is Fees taking Blade?"

"Do you think I'd tell you?" the Vampire Captain sneered.

Bang!

Without a word, Du Mu shot the Vampire Captain in the arm again.

"From now on, every time you don't answer my question, I'll shoot you."

The pure silver attached to the bullets burned the wound, causing the Vampire Captain immense pain.

"Fuck, you..."

Bang!

"You..."

Bang!

"I'll tell, I'll tell..."

Bang!

"I was going to tell you, why are you still shooting me!" the Vampire Captain broke down.

"Sorry, it's a habit."

"..."

Fearing Du Mu would shoot again, the Vampire Captain quickly said: "Yongye Hall! They went to Yongye Hall! Fees needs a living Daywalker to complete some kind of ritual!"

It seemed Blade was not in immediate danger.

Du Mu glanced at the green dot of his teammate on the map, which was starting to move outwards. He grabbed the Vampire Captain: "Do you have a car?"

"Yes, yes."

"Give me the car keys!"

The Vampire Captain, with a mournful face, tremblingly handed over the car keys he had just acquired through a loan.

Was he being robbed?

...

Yongye Hall was located in a remote, developing suburb, and a construction site could be seen from afar.

However, upon closer inspection, one would notice that all the equipment was inactive, with no signs of construction, clearly meant to be a cover-up.

Du Mu drove to a flat area two hundred meters away from the construction site and pulled out a telescope to observe.

Two-meter-high barbed wire surrounded the perimeter, and many Vampires carrying firearms patrolled the construction site, suggesting something very important was inside.

Du Mu glanced at the map, found Blade deep underground, and immediately pulled out his diamond pickaxe to dig downwards.

Ten minutes later, Du Mu dug through the soil in front of him, and the view suddenly opened up.

Deep underground, a vast subterranean space was hidden, appearing to be a structure left over from a long time ago.

Following Blade's location, Du Mu quickly arrived at a secret room where several Vampires were guarding a huge stone casket.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The golden desert eagle fired repeatedly, and the Vampire guards instantly turned to dust.

"Ah!!"

A piercing scream suddenly came from beside him.

Du Mu turned his head, only to find a dark-skinned female Vampire standing in the shadows.

Damn, when will this racial advantage be nerfed?

Bang!

Du Mu decisively shot her to silence her.

He walked to the stone casket and fumbled, quickly finding and pressing a switch.

With the sound of a mechanism activating, the stone casket slowly opened, revealing the unconscious Blade inside.

However, his condition was very bad; there were sharp blades on both sides inside the stone casket, deeply cutting his wrists, and blood continuously dripped from the wounds, flowing down the patterns of the stone casket.

Without the support of the stone casket, Blade fell directly to the ground.

"Blade, wake up."

Du Mu squatted down and patted Blade's face, but there was no response.

From Blade's pale complexion, it was clear this was a symptom of excessive blood loss.

According to Blade, although he was half-human, half-Vampire, he had never consumed fresh human blood, and his self-healing ability was far less powerful than that of a Vampire.

At this rate, even with Blade's strong physique, he would surely die.

Du Mu pulled out the newly acquired Coin of Destiny from his game inventory, but after seeing Blade's unlucky face, he put it away and replaced it with a red potion bottle.

[Item: Potion of Life (After use, gradually restores health over 15 seconds)]

Du Mu pinched open Blade's mouth and roughly poured the potion in.

The medicine took effect immediately!

The wound on Blade's wrist began to heal at a visible speed, and his pale face gradually regained some color. His eyelids fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Looking at the awakened Blade, Du Mu said speechlessly: "We agreed to catch Fees together, how did you end up getting caught?"

"There was an accident. My mother isn't dead. It turns out she was turned into a Vampire by Fees long ago, became his person, and ambushed me with Fees."

Blade's emotions were very complex at this moment.

Originally, his birth mother being alive was a happy thing, even if she had become a Vampire.

But he never expected that his birth mother would get involved with Fees, his enemy!

Which meant Fees had become his stepfather, and from now on, they would have to address each other accordingly.

Thinking of this, Blade gritted his teeth: "I must find her and ask her face to face why she did this!"

Du Mu looked at Blade with some sympathy.

His own mother, for the sake of her stepfather, did not hesitate to harm her own son, even trying to kill him. Anyone would find that unbearable.

He patted Blade's shoulder in comfort: "Where is your mother? I can help you find her."

Blade looked around, trying to recall: "Before I passed out, she seemed to be right beside me. Did you see a Black woman when you came in just now?"

"..."

Du Mu glanced at the inconspicuous pile of ashes in the corner and shook his head without hesitation: "Never seen her. I guess your mother must have left, but I believe you two will reunite someday."
