In the end, Draconis had to let go of his slime Familiar dreams. The girls' collective veto was ironclad, and even his wildest plans for slime-assisted combat fizzled out.

He'd already pictured it: send in the slimes, watch them dissolve enemy gear, and watch morale plummet—minus a thousand fighting spirit points right off the bat. Against shameless foes, a little trash talk would finish the job, and then, well… he'd have the upper hand.

But, yeah—maybe a little too beastly. Probably would earn him a bounty from every woman in the Underworld.

So, that was that.

Meanwhile, Asia had her hands full with the Azure Tempest Dragon. The little guy perched on her shoulder, nuzzling her cheek, looking absolutely smitten.

"Lucky girl," Zatouji said, beaming. "Azure Tempest Dragons are rare—this juvenile might be the only one in the whole forest."

Everyone congratulated Asia. With this dragon, she could finally dish out some serious lightning, giving her a real offensive edge.

They wasted no time—Asia signed the contract, and the team moved on.

"Zatouji-san, are there lots of strong Familiars in this forest?" Asia asked, hugging her new companion. The dragon sprawled across her chest, tiny claws kneading contentedly.

Draconis eyed the little dragon, suspicion flickering. Was this guy a male?

Zatouji, clearly charmed by Asia's innocence, grinned. "Plenty of powerful Familiars here. Who's strong or weak? Hard to say. Some mutate, some grow in ways you wouldn't expect. But if we run into something with real potential, I'll spot it. You won't miss out."

"Thank you so much, Zatouji-san!" Asia said, flashing Draconis a radiant smile.

Draconis returned it, soft and genuine. "Thanks for worrying about me, Asia."

"It's only natural," she replied.

With Zatouji leading, they encountered all sorts of Familiars—some impressive, but none that caught Draconis's eye. Most were just average. Not even the slimes had been this forgettable; at least those could mess with magical girls.

Just as Draconis was about to give up hope, Rias stopped short, letting out a quiet gasp.

Everyone followed her gaze to a canyon not far ahead.

"What is that…?" Asia whispered, hand over her mouth, eyes wide.

Suspended in the canyon air were hundreds—maybe thousands—of colorful figures, each radiating a distinct magical aura.

"Are those all Familiars?" Rias wondered aloud. Zatouji's expression shifted, thoughtful.

"They're all elemental spirits," he murmured.

Akeno squinted into the distance. "Ara ara, it looks like they're worshipping something…"

Zatouji clapped his hands, eyes bright. "Of course! This means an Elemental Spirit King has emerged!"

"Spirit…" Draconis muttered, voice flat. "Don't tell me it's another Undine, like before."

If so, he was out—no questions asked.

"Tsk, tsk. Amateurs," Zatouji sniffed, suddenly less friendly. "Spirits come in all kinds—different attributes, different looks, different powers."

"Then let's see what kind this Spirit King is," Rias said, sweeping her hair back with a smile.

They circled around for a better view. At the head of the elemental spirits hovered a single orb of metallic silver light—nothing else.

That was the Spirit King?

Zatouji's jaw dropped. "A metal-type Spirit King? That's rare, even among Spirit Kings!"

Draconis's instincts kicked in. This was it—the kind of Familiar with serious combat power.

"I'll take it," he said, decisive. Missing out would be criminal.

Zatouji laughed. "Follow me!"

He dashed ahead, Draconis right behind him.

As they neared, a strange pulse rippled out from the Spirit King, washing over everyone. Draconis felt a heaviness settle over him—his magic sluggish, almost locked down.

"Anti-magic!?" Rias cried, eyes blazing. "Draconis! You have to get it!"

He didn't need the reminder. An anti-magic Familiar? That was a game-changer. This was the evolved form of those slimes—perfect.

"Careful, kid—it's about to attack!" Zatouji warned.

No sooner had he spoken than the air filled with razor-sharp metallic shards, hurtling toward them from all directions.

Draconis's magic was slow, but he kept his cool. Unlike Rias and Akeno, he didn't rely on spells—anti-magic barely fazed him.

With a flick of his wrist, the Divine Lament Shield materialized, an invisible barrier that deflected every blade, keeping him and Zatouji safe.

Zatouji whistled. "Not bad. Guess I'll show off a bit myself."

He muttered something, sending out ripples that froze every elemental spirit in place, dropping them to the canyon floor.

"Hurry! I can't hold them long—the Spirit King's core is in that orb! Grab it!" he shouted.

Draconis didn't hesitate. He sprinted for the orb, dodging a barrage of summoned blades. The shield held strong—nothing could break through.

Without ceremony, he drove his fist into the metallic sphere and pulled out a mass of shimmering silver liquid.
