Chapter 94 - Five Weeks Later

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In just a few moments, without expecting it, three enormous trees were knocked down, and a black figure that had been sent flying through them crashed onto the ground.

Jonathan slowly walked toward that figure while brushing off his clothes and said, "You're slow. You rely too much on your regeneration ability, and that's going to get you killed."

"You're not teaching me how to fight."

"Well, if I don't, anyone with decent shooting skills could take your head off." Jonathan smiled faintly as he looked at the fallen figure, but before he could teach that one how to fight, another came out of the shadows, holding two knives and trying to cut him.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Dodging to the side, Jonathan struck the figure several times, then moved to another spot where three more figures were waiting for him.

"You've recovered that fast?" Jonathan's gaze showed a false surprise.

"You underestimate us too much."

"Well, you were the hunting dogs we took from that organization, so training you is the least I can do." Jonathan got tired of fighting, so he walked toward some benches and a table.

Since they were in a forest, they could do many things that would have been impossible elsewhere. At that moment, Jonathan was calmly drinking a refreshing soda, dressed entirely in black so the blood wouldn't be noticeable.

The others were also dressed in black. They were children, just like Eleven, but all of them had abilities derived from experiments and needed a dose of medication every month to enhance their powers.

Jonathan, being rather indifferent toward others, called the only girl Hanna, and the strongest boy in the group he called Daniel.

The rest he simply called kids — one, two, three, four, five, six, and seven.

They had been training for much longer than expected, and Jonathan seemed to have some hope for this group.

"This place sucks. When are we going to travel?" Hanna was a girl with a very irritable temperament — she was always angry at everyone.

"We'll have a mission eventually. They won't let us rot in this place."

"Yeah, keep dreaming. They won't send us anywhere unless this guy says we're ready."

Jonathan, who was lying down and lost in thought, lifted his gaze, looked at Hanna, and said, "Don't look at me like that. If I can control the Upside Down, you'll be able to appear in missions without having to accompany me."

Hanna, with her bad temper, asked, "You think you'll control it sitting in the middle of nowhere, drinking an energy drink mixed with coffee?"

"Listen, Hanna, I've got a question for you — do you think I go around looking for missions?" Jonathan showed a faint smile under the girl's murderous glare.

It wasn't like him to wait, but he needed to carefully cultivate these plants before attempting to control the Upside Down, and for that, he needed Eleven, who was just beginning her early childhood life.

Of course, he wouldn't wait too long — he was starting to get tired of it.
