Once things in this place settled down, Jonathan would make sure to slow down a bit until his allies became a little stronger.
It wasn't just about Wednesday — he hoped everyone could increase their abilities.
He didn't demand much from Father Doug, but from his subordinates with superhuman powers.
Until they became much more skilled, he preferred to stay a bit more in the shadows.
Now, with new individuals possessing superhuman abilities similar to Eleven, he would search for them and make sure to recruit them into his group.
…
"Is this the location?"
"Sir, we have the signals that place us here."
Ben Miller, a man who until now had been a government supervisor sent by Amanda, was in charge of finding out what Jonathan's mission in his dimension would be.
The only thing they knew was that there had been a dimensional rift that Jonathan had been assigned to close.
…
Private room.
Five hours later.
Ben Miller looked over the report Jonathan had made, and after an hour of reading it, he nodded, then said:
"From what I can see, you've completed your mission. You left around seventy dead along the way and collateral damage amounting to at least half a million dollars."
"Seems like you understood it well." Jonathan smiled as he ate a frozen hamburger — in fact, it was the fifth hamburger he'd eaten.
It didn't show, but he needed to recover from all the blood he had lost; it didn't just come back from nowhere, after all.
"But you still haven't told me what happened to the victims, have you?"
Jonathan paused and asked, "Are you familiar with the Indira universe theory?"
"Does it have to do with portals?"
"The theory of infinite universes explains a constant, infinite expansion of each universe. With different planes of existence, each of us could be replicating ourselves in other realities at the same time."
"This theory opposes the latest study by Stephen Hawking, who viewed the universe as a hologram that only appeared to expand. Although he didn't deny the existence of other universes, he did reduce them considerably to a finite number."
"Of particular note is the research by Bruno Bento from the University of Liverpool, who questions any kind of beginning, as explained by the Big Bang. He completely breaks with the notion of space-time, suggesting the possibility that there was never a beginning, but rather an eternity of matter."
Ben Miller, a sturdy, serious man with a cold demeanor, began to sweat — he didn't understand what Jonathan was talking about, or at least where he was going with this conversation.
"The Order will handle the details. As far as I'm concerned, I've already completed my mission here, and I'd appreciate it if you stopped sticking your nose into Order business."
The reason his mission had been interrupted was due to Amanda's involvement — she was investigating him.
And if it was the same Amanda he remembered, he'd rather stay as far away from her as possible.
At least until Jonathan became much stronger.
"We'll take that into account."
"I hope so… Now that both portals are sealed, you won't have to worry about any further aftereffects."
