It was dawn—yes, that magical time when the sky is just bright enough to make you regret waking up early but not bright enough to make the monsters blush.
Outside the ginormous gate of the demon lord's palace, Kai and Leo stood like two nervous tourists at the entrance of a haunted house.
Leo, the more serious of the two, sighed deeply, his ears perked up as if expecting a surprise party—except the surprise was probably a demon ambush.
His hat was pulled down low, and his coat covered his tail, which he kept trying to secretly hide behind his legs.
Kai, on the other hand, looked like he'd just rolled out of bed after a long nap, fully covered from head to toe, looking like a walking, slightly grumpy burrito.
Suddenly, a woman with long black hair and a smile that could melt lava approached.
She wore a robe that looked like it belonged to a demon fashion show, and her skin had swirling patterns that probably meant she was a demon artist or just really into body paint.
She Is their mom—Thalia—who had wolf ears that twitched every time she got emotional, and a tail that swayed like it was doing the cha-cha.
"Take care of yourselves, my little troublemakers," she said, her voice warm but with a hint of "don't mess this up." Her fangs glinted mischievously, and her eyes shone with pride and worry all at once.
Kai smiled gently, hugging her tightly. "Don't worry, Mom. We'll be fine—probably even better than fine, like superheroes or something."
Leo nodded solemnly, trying to look brave but secretly worried he'd trip over his own feet. "Yeah, don't worry, Mom. We'll survive… probably."
Just as they were exchanging emotional goodbyes, Zarathor, the sternest demon in the universe (or at least in this scene), strolled up, his hands behind his back and a look that said he'd just eaten a lemon.
Without a word, he flicked his fingers, and in a flash, the brothers vanished like magic tricks gone wrong.
Suddenly, there was a bright white light, followed by what could only be described as the sound of two brothers' screams echoing through the universe—until it was interrupted by the loud, unmistakable sound of a thud.
Heavy breathing, some muffled curses, and a lot of "What the heck just happened?" filled the air.
When Kai finally opened his eyes, he found himself in a whole new world—one that definitely didn't have demon place.
Kai stood up, brushing off the dust from his purple hair, which now looked more like a sandy mess than a stylish hairstyle.
He ruffled his hair, trying to shake out the dirt as if it was a pesky bug.
"He could have gone a little careful on us not drop us like rocks... right, Leo?" he asked, glancing around for a response.
But there was no answer. The silence was awkward, like waiting for a punchline that never came.
"Right, Leo?" Kai repeated, louder this time.
Still nothing.
Annoyed, he spun around—and there was Leo, groaning and breathing heavily, face flat on the ground mumbling something under his breath that probably sounded like a demon curse or a really bad breakfast.
Kai quickly helped him to his feet and dusted his coat, which was now sporting a few new dirt smudges.
Leo adjusted his hat, making sure it covered his wolf ears properly—because, of course, they had to be hidden just in case humans were allergic to adorable demon wolf ears.
"Where are we?" Leo asked, rubbing his sore ribs and looking around with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Kai's eyes widened, and a slow smirk spread across his face.
His mouth was slightly ajar in awe, like a kid seeing a candy store for the first time. "Earth," he said softly, almost whispering. "The human world..."
And what a strange, wild place it was. Imagine a land where the sky is a vast canvas of blue, dotted with fluffy clouds that looked like cotton candy—and sometimes, clouds that looked suspiciously like flying hamburgers.
The ground beneath them was covered in green grass, crisscrossed with roads filled with strange metal beasts called cars, which zoomed past at dizzying speeds.
Everywhere they looked, there were towering structures—glass and steel giants scraping the sky, shining in the sunlight like giant shiny teeth.
People—humans—walked by in their strange clothes, some on two feet, some on four (if you count their tiny, wheeled contraptions called skateboards).
The air smelled like a mix of roasted coffee, fried food, and a hint of something they couldn't quite place—probably a new kind of demon perfume.
"Well," Kai said, eyes still wide, "welcome to Earth—the planet where humans apparently think wearing pajamas outside is fashionable." He chuckled, trying to hide his amazement.
Leo just sighed, adjusting his hat again, and muttered, "Great. Just what I needed—another weird world to get used to. Can't wait."

Leo and Kai's first mission was supposed to be simple—find out where they were and where they could stay.
Kai believed it would be easy, thinking he could manipulate humans or use his powers to create a place for them. But reality proved more complicated as they wandered through the streets.
While walking along the sidewalk, a man suddenly bumped into Leo, nearly knocking his hat off.
The man didn't even notice, absorbed in his phone, and simply walked away. Leo watched him go, frowning.
"It's weird that they always have that glowing box in their hand," he muttered, referring to phones.
Kai shrugged lazily. "That's not our problem. Let's just find a place to stay," he said with a sigh, showing his typical laziness.
At the end of the street, Kai's gaze drifted upward and then downward, leading him to bump into a cardboard box. Oranges spilled out everywhere, rolling across the sidewalk.
"Oh, am sorry... am so sorry..." Kai murmured, hurriedly gathering the oranges and placing them back in the box.
Suddenly, an old woman appeared, standing nearby. She looked aged but still sturdy enough to walk and talk. Her voice was hoarse, and her eyes were half-shut but filled with kindness.
"It's okay, son... I can buy more," she said gently.
Leo and Kai both apologized, bowing slightly. "We're sorry, ma'am. We didn't see you there," Leo said softly.
The woman smiled warmly. "My name is Mrs. Meh. Call me Granny. What brings you boys here?"
Leo hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "We're just trying to figure out where we are and where we can stay. We don't have anywhere to go."
Kai nodded, adding, "We're helpless right now."
Mrs. Meh studied them thoughtfully.
"You're in South Korea, Busan," she said. Then, with a gentle smile, she continued,
"And about where you'll live— I have an unused house. It used to belong to my granddaughter, but she left, and it's been empty for years. You can use it."
A house on the very first day—something neither Leo nor Kai expected. They looked at each other, surprised but grateful.
Leo spoke softly, "But ma'am... we don't have money..."
Kai nodded in agreement.
"Don't worry—I'll give you money, food, or anything you need. It's the last thing I'll do before I die," she added with rare sincerity.
Mrs. Meh's eyes softened. "My family left me all alone... maybe you boys can keep me company," she said quietly, her voice trembling just a little.
Leo and Kai smiled warmly, feeling a strange sense of warmth and purpose. Leo's ears twitched slightly, a habit he tried to hide, quickly covering it with a casual flick of his hair.
"Let's go," the old lady said gently, leading the way.
