The atmosphere was unbearably awkward. Even the servant didn't know what to say, bowing her head and quickly carrying the laundry away.
Among the clothes was Cecilia's pink pajamas, and a bracelet—snatched from Blair—slid out of the pocket onto the floor, unnoticed by the servant.
"Wait." Blaze raised an eyebrow, calling the servant back. He crouched down, picked up the bracelet, and held it out to Cecilia. "Is this your bracelet?"
The crystal beads glistened, still carrying a faint scent of detergent. But Cecilia's mood sank instantly at the sight, especially at Blaze's mock-innocent expression. Who did he think this belonged to?
"This isn't mine. It's yours!" she said sourly, pushing his hand away.
Blaze blinked, confused, and turned to the servant for an explanation.
She shook her head, still carrying the laundry. "Must have fallen out of the clothes, not mine. I'm going to hang these up."
"Is there a problem with this bracelet?" he asked, frowning at her reaction.
