At the sound of her name, Blaze paused mid-step, ducking into a secluded corner to catch her words.
"…But this time… I guess we really are over. Even at the magazine, he pretended not to see me. Maybe he doesn't want to talk to me," Cecilia whispered, wiping her eyes fiercely. The rain was pouring so hard she could barely tell where it ended and her tears began.
She leaned closer to the tombstone, pressing her cheek against the cold stone. "But… I still like Blaze. Maybe… I'll never get the chance to tell him."
The sudden confession froze Blaze in place. His eyes widened, betraying the shock he couldn't hide, and before his mind could catch up, his legs had already begun moving toward her.
"But he's such a jerk… two-timing, always chasing after women. I shouldn't even like him…"
Cecilia counted off his flaws on her fingers, unaware of the dark shadow looming above her. A deep voice rumbled in the drizzle, startling her: "Is that how you see me?"
She froze.
