Blaze's phone rang in the middle of the lively dinner. He glanced at the screen—it seemed important.
"Excuse me, I need to take this."
Ivanka didn't stop him. Once around the corner, Blaze pressed the phone to his ear, listening to his assistant's report.
"Mr. Diego, Miss Cecilia returned to her apartment by taxi at seven. Everything seems normal."
The assistant had been stationed outside Marylin's building. Since it wasn't safe for the two women to live alone, he was responsible for reporting Cecilia's movements and any unusual events.
Blaze checked the time, thought for a moment, then instructed:
"Pack some late-night food and send it up—she hasn't had dinner. Also, how's her mood?"
There was a brief hesitation on the other end, then the assistant replied awkwardly,
"Miss Spark seems a bit upset… she almost had an argument with a neighbor's poodle on her way upstairs."
Blaze couldn't help but chuckle, feeling the weight of the day lift slightly.
