Chapter 137 - Chapter 131: A Great Sect Elder and the Master

Chapter 131: A Great Sect Elder and the Master

A beautiful woman floated serenely in the air, legs crossed in a meditation posture, with powerful magical energy circulating around her. The atmosphere was dense with razor-sharp essence energy, pressing down with palpable force. Yet through it all, she remained calm and still—an unmoving center in a storm of power.

Far ahead of her lay two small caves, both sealed tightly with formidable magic.

From one of the caves, a faint feminine roar echoed at intervals, followed by low, thunderous booms that reverberated throughout the area. The other cave was eerily silent, though anyone standing within a foot of its entrance would be overwhelmed by a suffocating wave of heat radiating from within.

After some time, the woman's eyes snapped open. She immediately turned her gaze toward the ground below her—where a figure had appeared without warning.

In an instant, she descended and bowed respectfully.

"Master Bluesonics, I greet thee."

"Hahaha, no need for all the formality, girl. Raise your head," said the man with a warm smile.

He eyed the two caves ahead.

"Hmm... Looks like those girls I asked you to train are progressing quite nicely. At this rate, they'll all break through soon. And if they keep at it, I'd say the chances of them becoming Mortal Lords in the future are very high."

The woman nodded with pride.

"Yes, of course. Even if you hadn't asked me, it's still an honor to train them. Their talent is astonishing—and not just theirs. That whole group, including Princess Helga, is exceptional."

Master Bluesonics chuckled.

"You were like them once, too, you know. Hehe, Don't think I've forgotten."

But then, his expression shifted—just slightly. His eyes grew distant, solemn.

"It seems... I'm running out of time. Who would've thought I'd come this close to completing the mission I was sent to do... after all these years in this place."

The woman's brows furrowed, her voice soft with concern.

"Master… Are you saying you'll be leaving for good? You've still never told me anything—not even where you're really from…"

She gave a slight pout, her voice trailing off.

"Hahaha! Why is everyone so curious about my origins?" he said with another laugh. "You, that boy you now call Sect Master, and countless others over the years… Always asking. But my background really doesn't matter."

He smiled knowingly.

"Maybe if you live long enough—and reach a certain height in cultivation—you'll start to learn a little more. Maybe that boy Elton will help answer those questions one day."

"But truthfully?" he added with a shrug. "I'm no one important... Not in the grand scheme of things."

With that, he laughed once more—and in the blink of an eye, he vanished.

The woman remained still, staring at the spot where he once stood.

She was tall—around 5'10"—with a lean, curvaceous frame. Her long, jet-black hair flowed freely behind her, framing a striking face with sharp eyes, refined brows, and soft, crimson lips.

She wore the white-and-gold martial gi of a Great Elder of the Bright Brilliant Blade Sect, adorned with red and gold tassels shaped like miniature swords. Elegant blue earrings dangled from her ears. On her back rested a highly ornate magical staff, radiating power far beyond the average Gold Star weapon. It was a Mortal Star-ranked artifact—a rarity, even among elite experts.

At her side hung a gleaming Gold Star-ranked sword.

Despite her focus on magic, she was no stranger to swordplay—and her cultivation was no less extraordinary. Her true strength?

"My cultivation is far too low even as a Pristine Soul Expert huh…"

She murmured to herself, reflecting on what her Master had just said.

"So... Master thinks I should start paying closer attention to 'Junior Brother Elton', huh? Won't that look odd? Still, if his progress continues at this rate, reaching mid-tier Mortal Lord within at most ten years might not be impossible…"

Her expression turned thoughtful, even conflicted.

She glanced toward the two caves once more—her eyes narrowing as something else occurred to her.

"Now that I think about it… They've been using some sort of synchronization technique, haven't they?"

"If I can make them push it further beyond just that first level of synchronization… maybe, just maybe, we can shorten the time even more."

A subtle gleam appeared in her gaze—part curiosity, part calculation—as she considered the implications.

At that very moment, somewhere far away, Elton suddenly froze mid-training. A sharp, inexplicable shiver surged through his entire body.

"What… was that?" he muttered, frowning.

He glanced around, but sensed no visible danger. Still, an overwhelming wave of intuition made his heart race.

He shook it off and resumed his training.

Two weeks later, within the same special cultivation chamber Christy had been using, a massive explosion of energy erupted, shaking the surrounding air.

The chamber glowed with divine light. Christy's aura flared—her entire body wrapped in swirling hues of gold, crimson, and a radiant rainbow sheen. Her eyes shot open, glowing intensely as they reflected powerful golden scripts embedded within the crimson irises of her Aka Boshi no Tengan. It was evolving.

For two full hours, storm-like energy washed through the area—shaking the sealed formation and causing pressure waves to ripple outward.

When the storm finally calmed, Christy slowly rose to her feet.

She looked down at her body—filthy black residue from her internal cleansing coated her skin and tattered robes.

"Ugh... I have to cleanse myself immediately... There's no way I can let anyone—especially Gege—see me like this!"

Despite her breakthrough to Gold Tier 5, now officially becoming a Golden Lord, her first concern wasn't her progress—it was her appearance.

She swiftly walked out of the special cultivation cave to leave this area and clean herself off.

Just then, a calm voice called out from behind.

"So, you've finally broken through. Good job, Christy."

Christy turned and bowed instantly.

"Greetings, Elder Rukia!"

"Raise your head," the elder replied. "Well, you're certainly overdue for a bath... but once you're done, we'll be having a spar. I want to assess your current abilities personally."

"Yes, Elder Rukia! I'll be ready!" Christy said with a bright smile before quickly dashing off.

Elder Rukia remained standing in place, watching Christy's figure disappear down the path with a thoughtful expression.

She crossed her arms, her piercing gaze contemplative.

"Yes… this isn't exactly a conventional path. Nor is it quite Master's style. But I'm sure I can arrange something at some point..."

"Especially since they all have had so little time together these past three years. All that time simply spent for their cultivation training… it's unfortunate."

A subtle smirk played across her lips as her internal thoughts continued.

"For the sake of the sect, and for the sake of Master's long-standing intentions… I'll see this through."

Her eyes glinted faintly as the quiet scheming of Elder Rukia continued.
