She lowered her head, remembering what Mrs. Luke had said downstairs. Because of the baby she carried, Mrs. Luke wanted her and Harry to get married soon.
Tina's heart fluttered at the thought. How could she possibly let such an opportunity slip through her fingers?
"Harry," she said softly, her lashes trembling as she looked up at him, "I'm carrying your child. And your mother... she wants us to get married soon."
A shadow flickered in Harry's deep eyes.
His expression turned cold and unreadable. "Is the child really mine?" he asked, his tone icy and sharp.
Tina froze.
The calm mask she wore cracked for a moment before she quickly forced a delicate, hurt smile. "Harry, don't you remember that night? The baby is truly yours."
