With a click, Li Qingyuan turned off the television.
He had to admit, when Alexander Corvinus was still alive, no matter how much trouble the werewolves or vampires caused, he could always suppress it.
That ancient monster had lived for over a thousand years — nobody really knew how many identities he held or how deep his influence went.
But ever since that common ancestor of both races died, the petty disputes between vampires and werewolves began to surface, quickly exposing their existence to the public — and thus began their tragic downfall.

Last night, after sending that vampire girl off to her "eternal rest," he had taken a cab to the most luxurious hotel in Budapest. He'd refused the front desk clerk's so-called "room service" and slept until just now.
Not that he was being pretentious — it's just that this mission was extremely urgent, and he didn't have time to waste on ordinary distractions.
The system had given him three days for this task, and now only 64 hours remained. Every second counted!
Fortunately, according to his memory, the plot of Underworld 1 would wrap up within the next two days. Even if he just followed the story beats, he wouldn't miss much.
Michael Corvinus — a direct descendant of Alexander Corvinus — possessed the legendary Perfect Blood, capable of merging both werewolf and vampire genes into a hybrid creature.

At least he'd gotten the location of the vampire nest from that vampire girl's interrogation — the Victor Manor, on the outskirts of the city.
That estate was quite famous locally — every taxi driver knew it.
Of course, the locals only knew it as the ancestral home of some ancient noble family. It often hosted glamorous parties with handsome men and beautiful women, but no one actually knew what went on inside.
With no leads on Michael or the werewolves, Li Qingyuan decided to start by investigating the manor.
According to the movie, the vampires had installed modern defenses — even surveillance cameras all around the estate. But to him, those vampires were basically walking experience points.
He parked his rental car about a kilometer away from the manor, then popped open the trunk and began preparing his tools.
Honestly, every time he thought about Underworld, he didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.
If the movie wanted to be a fantasy film, fine — add some real magic, some power! Give the vampires and werewolves some actual strength! You don't have to make it Lord of the Rings, but at least make it interesting!
Instead, across five whole movies, everyone just ran around with guns. Bang bang bang! Completely absurd!
Sure, the heroine Selene in her black leather catsuit was sexy — even Marvel's Black Widow outfit was inspired by her — but the plot? Totally uninspired.
If you're going to lean into technology instead of magic, at least level up that tech tree!
But no — five movies later, everyone's still shooting pistols and submachine guns. Come on!
At least Resident Evil went all-in — Umbrella Corporation brought out tanks, aircraft, submarines, even doomsday weapons!
By comparison, Underworld relied entirely on Selene's looks, charisma, and leather suit to carry the franchise. Truly baffling.
But whatever — the dumber the enemies, the better. Li Qingyuan wasn't the type to make his missions harder for fun.
If he could win easily, why suffer?
A kilometer might be an impassable distance on an ancient battlefield, but with modern weapons, it was nothing.
Using the materials he'd bought earlier at a hardware store, he began clank-clank-clank assembling a simple missile launcher.
Then he pulled out a crate of Stark Industries–made Sidewinder missiles.
He loaded twelve missiles into the launcher — not because he was saving ammo, but because that was all it could hold.
Through his binoculars, he gazed at the distant gothic mansion and silently offered a prayer.
May they all go to hell — heaven probably wouldn't take them anyway.
He dragged the launcher into a nearby thicket. One press of the trigger, and that majestic castle would be reduced to rubble.
Sure, the vampires had reinforced the place with solid granite walls that could withstand machine-gun fire — but against Stark-grade military missiles, it might as well be made of tofu.
And vampires were nowhere near as durable as werewolves. After twelve missiles, even if they weren't completely wiped out, at least 70–80% would be vaporized.
And since it was broad daylight, any survivors would have to choose between running out into the sunlight to burn alive or hiding in the ruins to be bombed again.
But… he hesitated. Maybe not yet.
He still hadn't found Michael or the werewolves.
If he blew up the vampires now, who would lead him to them?
Just then, a line of luxury cars slowly drove past. Judging by their direction, they were heading straight toward Victor Manor.
